I took a long walk yesterday. I was sitting at the computer and it just came to me that it would be fun to strap on the ipod and take a walk. I don't now where it came from because that just isn't me on a normal day.

It was nice. I walked for 45 minutes and would have made it an hour, but it started to sprinkle and I melt when I get wet.

That is just fantastic. Just a few weeks ago you were claiming to be an exercise-phobe and now you are having urges to hit the road! Mary must have been praying for you! Her prayers always work so well for me.

Just spent some time reading your journal from the beginning...I can't wait to get to the part of my journey where the things that always bother me now, won't later on, because I will be feeling so good physically !

Well, it has to have "Jo" in it. I was thinking of the Empress Josephine.

Hey, Jo! Just wanted to say hello since I've not been posting as much lately. Things at work were CRAZY these last few weeks, and I am only now finding time to actually breathe.

How's everything going for you? Are you feeling more on solid footing these days with maintenaceland - I know you had a couple weeks of feeling a bit off-kilter.

I LOVE hearing about all your spontaneous exercising - random walks? bike rides? Who is this new JO, and what did you do with our old exercise-phobe?

So, comin' to NYC to visit your son anytime soon? I'd love to finally connect in person...

Hey, Lauren, nice to hear from you. Must be the NYC thing. My son is in the middle of changing jobs and apartments. He's moving from a 5th floor walkup to a 4th floor walkup.......argh! I'm staying as far away from there as I can for the time being, hehe. And since we have several trips planned this fall, I would say NYC will be next spring at the earliest. I know for certain that I'll be there next June, coming with friends for a show/shopping/NYC food extravaganza.

I'm coming to terms that I have to always be on my toes re: food and will never be quite settled in that area, but I'm doing ok. No binging or huge weight gains, though I'd be happier if I was more consistant rather than eating right for days and then just slipping sideways for a day or so or even just a meal. I don't like that at all, so that's what I'm working on at the moment. The scales have been lenient, the clothes still fit, so it's not THAT bad, just not settled. Understand that mishmash? Good, let's talk about the weather, hehe.
