Secret Food Obsessions Lists. Be honest!

Postby bikipatra » May 15th, 2007, 2:07 am

I got this idea from AA where there are people who have been sober 20 plus years and have never had so many of the newer brands and cocktails. So they admit that they wonder what a certain drink tastes like...
So pick a food you have been thinking about a lot and get it out in the open. In therapy they always said that that took the power of it away.
I'll start and mine is pretty gross. The commercial plays endlessly so I am wondering what that Oreo pizza is like. The ad is vile with men with Oreo fragments stuck to their faces but I still keep wondering. So there it is. Oh, and I want to try those new Hot Pocket Calzones. Maybe I should just keep my television off! :) But I am just happy to get this out in the open because in reality I know both items would be crappy.

I can't think of anything I haven't eaten, but I will admit that I think about cinnimon rolls.....the big gooey kind with the icing slathered all over them. They are just so sinful that I wonder what it would be like to dig in to one. Good thing they are so obscenely bad.

I've only eaten those 3-4 times my whole life-the really thick gooey ones. They are like sticky pillows!

I recently saw a commercial by Dairy Queen for some new ice cream dish that had a shaped waffle base, strawberries and chocolate slathered on it. Almost needed to get DH a cloth to wipe the drool off of his chin and I had to admit it did look tasty.......but then I began wondering what really was being photographed for the commercial. Real ice cream would have never held up to the heat of the lights.......so was it shaving cream? Mashed potatoes? Drywall spackle? Grossed me out and took away the interest.

Thankfully I'm finding myself not tempted by the television nor magazine ads, but I'm not so foolish as to believe that it will always be that way for me.

I think the only thing that I crave for is Cheese Curds from A&W. I remember having them and they were so good (this is pre-Medifast). They are totally unhealthy, but that's why they taste so good.

I have been looking at the new Edys ice cream flavors..... That's all I do is look. I won't bring any in the house. I don't trust myself. If my guys want ice cream, they can go to D.Q. :boing: :boing: :boing:

I'm going to have to try this.. I never thought much about how the food in commercials isn't really food.

I miss Sonic.. anything from Sonic really.. there are no Sonics here, so that's a good thing. But just thinking of a Sonic burger with cheese and mayo, and a side of tater tots with cheese and a cherry lime freeze makes me want to drive the 2 days back to Georgia to go to a Sonic.

I have had the same strange foodie desire/craving for the entire time I've been on MF and now through maintenance...but it's not like it was something I ate much of prior to MF, so I don't know why, but it's a really good and warm Soft Pretzel. And while I live in NYC, I am originally from Philly and that area, so I know a good soft pretzel, and that's what I want!

I don't even need the whole thing, I just want the part that I call the "nubbins," those two little extra bits that crossover and hang off - oh, god, just thinking about it makes me want it! I could technically have it, but I am afraid of "opening the floodgates," and almost think it's better to dream it then to eat it. But we'll see, I have considered getting one a couple times in the last few weeks...not likely to happen yet.

Yummy!

Ohhhhh
For me it's cheetos .. .the deep fried ones of course. I would sit there.. my face was orange, my fingers were orange, my stomach was sick .. still stuffing them right in my mouth. I'd eat til the bag was empty .. no matter how big the bag  I can't have them anywhere around me ...

I still won't keep ice cream in the house. And my most frequent craving? Fried stuff and probably macaroni and cheese. Nothing strange, though.

Unless you count my new favorite obsession on maintenance: sugar-free Fudgesicles dipped in Cool Whip Free.

Robin, that makes me curious: are you finding that you want everything dipped in something? I am going through a bizarre obsession with Walden Farms dips, jams, whatever, sprinkled on my pudding, spooned into my oatmeal, whatever. I don't eat the fudscicles, but I do eat the 10-15 calorie sugar-free pops and I've even gone so far as to repeatedly dip them into a tiny pile of cinnamon. I know - really weird!?! It's like multiple flavors simultaneously are suddenly what my palette is requiring...

I started with the Popsicles. Then branched out to the multipack with Creamsicles and Fudgesicles, which was a mistake.

But no, I think that's the only thing I dip lately. Other than the apple slices in peanut butter powder on occasion. (OK, and sometimes my chicken breast in a little sauce of some sort, but that's because I overcooked a batch last week.)

It must just be you. :)
