DeDe ~
I always chuckle when I read reports like yours that say their cravings have gone away and they don't need the snacks as often. It seems that people are so worried about being hungry and they focus on what they will have to do without that they almost get hungrier during the first few days of the program.
Before I went on the program, I would go for hours without eating - like for 6 hours or so before I had my first food of the day. The very first day I started on the program, I looked at my shake and thought, "Is this ALL I get to have for breakfast?" I hadn't eaten breakfast for two years - since we had been on vacation!
When it was time for the mid-morning Medimeal, I looked at my little shake and thought, "Are you kidding me? This is supposed to fill ME up?" I slurped it down and wished for more.
At lunch time, I hauled out my straw and shake and sucked it down, wanting a whole lot more. This went on for a number of days...I thought about grub ALL the time. I went to bed early to avoid commercials and the calling of the cupboards (they were empty, however).
Celery became very attractive. I made a stalk of celery last for an hour. The Fast Soup was my best friend. I longed for more than one packet...
I drank water all the time. I wore a path in the carpet running to the BR.
I was eating more often than I had ever eaten, my brain wanted more food but my stomach was satisfied. Then all of a sudden, there was no focus on food, hunger was gone. Cravings were gone. My focus changed from food to life.
It's an amazing thing!
