Sometimes I don't have a lot to say in my journal either, however, it does help me stay accountable. I try to write a little something in there everyday so that I can go back and look at my journey in written form. Some days I just need to read my own excitement about MF and my own desire to get this weight off once and for all. I think each of us can be our own best motivator, just by reading our own thoughts. So, I encourage you to write in your journal.

I'm sure you'll hit that 20# club in no time. :cheerleader:

Thanks, Donica!

You are right -- one of the reasons that I fall by the wayside is by failing to be accountable. The Sunday Morning Roll Call is one way to stay accountable, but during the week when things start to go a bit crazy I need something to focus on.

Another day, another pound!

Postby Seaside » March 29th, 2007, 5:34 am

Yahoo!! Nothing is so motivating as actually losing weight. I think that being more compliant and drinking plenty of water is the key. Down one more pound, which makes it 2 lbs since Sunday!

Way to go. This is the only diet that I have been on that keeps me motivated.

Keep up the great work.

I have to say that nothing is more motivating for me that GAINING weight on a diet like Medifast too. I know it works, so I know it will work for me if I just get with it!

Down one more pound!!

Postby Seaside » March 30th, 2007, 5:32 am

Oh, yeah, 20 lbs is so close I can almost taste it. I haven't felt horrible this week as I've tried to stay compliant, but certainly it's the first time in many years that I've experienced normal hunger. I think I just have to get used to that and realize that I'm not going to perish (far from it). I remember the normal "hungries" I had when I was younger, and I simply waited til my next meal and forgot about it because I had more important things to do like run, play or swim.

I have a membership to the Y that I need to use -- swimming is a good start and then maybe some weightlifting. I used to lift weights 2-3X/week and swim EVERY DAY. Good grief.

Nancy is right. The first thing is to get off some of the major weight and then I can exercise more easily. So far so good. This program really delivers if you do it right!

Back in the saddle again

Postby Seaside » May 2nd, 2007, 6:19 am

Sigh. April was a rough month for me; nothing bad happened, I was just busy as a bee in a tarbucket. :? However, because of that, I went off the program and all that hard work was partially undone in very short order. And if I ever needed a sign that MF was the way to go, it was just how incredibly awful I felt when I went off and began to eat the junk I used to eat and not drinking enough water. Man -- that was terrible. I felt bloated, sick and always stuffed, even when I woke up after a full night's sleep. Now I'm getting back on track and the net damage is 5 lbs.

In the midst of that, I got a very nice note from Nancy, asking how I was doing. It was a sign, I think, that I needed to really get back on track and that she was in my corner. Thanks, Nancy!

Yesterday was devoted to a migraine and I am getting over it today. Today is a new day!

Thanks, Tonia! It's good to be back. I have about 2 weeks of a break before I get back to my crazy schedule of working full-time, teaching part-time and going to school full-time. I'm going to use them to relax a bit and work on my health so that I will have more energy when I will need it!
