I know you're not supposed to count the water in your meals, but I've never understood it. If it says make with 8oz, and you make it with 16, why doesn't that extra 8 count?

I think you do count the extra eight, but not the first eight

Ha! I'm about.

As I said in weigh in the weigh in thread, I actually register UP two pounds this week. I don't buy it - other than a fairly responsible birthday dinner, I've been on program. I'm thinking that weighing and microanalyzing will be counterproductive for a bit so long as I'm eating the same Medifast dealies about exclusively.

Just in case anything's amiss with the Splenda-sweetened beverages, I don't plan to buy any more for a while. I'll run through what I've got, then try to acclimate to just water for a while. (Stihl likely knows best here, dull as the water may be!)

Breaking out an older pair of pants and punching a hole in the belt was fun, as I mentioned. Another odd thing is that my shoes are feeling a bit looser. One doesn't normally think of feet as containing a lot of fat. It makes me wonder if that's really something else. Maybe a product of better circulation - less blood pooling at extremities? Or maybe it's all in my head.

That would make a lot of sense. The stuff never goes back to powder in the digestive tract. It's never going to be dryer than the rest of one's gut. So about the same amount of water could be considered "lost" to the powder, regardless of how diluted it is in the cup.

Ha - I really meant like a teaspoon if that. The goal is to add just enough to break up the crystal lattice that forms ice. With a large batch of sorbet, just a few teaspoons is enough to prevent it from being a ginormous, solid popsicle.

Thinking on this - vanilla extract could work as well. Many of those are suspended in an alcohol, and it could compliment the flavor of some packets.

That said, I'm not doing anything half this creative with my own packets so far. Mostly, I'm just grinding huge amounts of pepper into the soups, chilli and stews.

Still about, but right now I'm only using Medifast for between-meal snacks. I've just been too weak and tired, so I'm focusing on getting more protein in and spending time in the gym. Down 7 pounds from last week, when I was up 2 with water weight or whatever, so I'm doing okay.
