This is kind of a grey area, but I think the general consensus is that nothing replaces good 'ole pure H2O. It would be better than coming up short if you absolutely can't get all your water down for the day.

For me, they're a nice replacement for my daily coffee quota.
I'm really enjoying them....:)

Something told me you were gonna say that! Oh well, I will do what I can.

On another note, I am getting in to a regular exercise routine. It isn't much, but it is better than sitting on the couch all day feeling sorry for myself that I can't do anything else. The routine includes 50 crunches, 50 leg lifts or reverse crunches (lower ab work), 50 step push-ups (on my knees since I can't use my toes), and some exercises using firewood as weights to deal with my bat wings on my upper arms). I do all of this in the morning and again in the evening. It really does feel good to get the blood moving around again. I could come up with all the excuses in the world, but I know that, without exercise, I would never be happy with my body, because of the parts that would just be hangin around. I am hoping what I am doing now will tone things up a bit. I am also determined to win at least half of the money pot in our "Such a Loser" contest so I am working on reducing the measurment numbers.

So far so good on being compliant today; 3 Medi-meals in and some water. I have done 25 step push-ups and 25 crunches so far. Still have more to do to feel like I got in the right amount of exercise. It was so much easier when I could WALK! UGH! Ok - 3 weeks from today the cast WILL come off! I almost feel like starting a ticker for that too.

That's SO awesome about the exercise! I'm sure it's good to be moving! It just makes me feel better, I NEED to make it a habit!

Three weeks, YAY! That's not too long after all you've already been through!

I have decided that I am going to go to Wal-Mart more often. Trips out have been limited unless absolutly necessary since my surgery, but I wanted to get a copy of a "before" photo of me. While I was there I ran into 3 people who have not seen me since October. They were all WOWED! One of them even "tracked me down" after we finished talking and said he HAD to know "How in the H-E- Double hockey sticks I had lost so much weight?" He said he said that after we talked that he told his daughter that he didn't even recognize me until I mentioned 4-H, then he put it all together and realized who I was. He told her I was half the person I used to be. I am not even close to half, but I was so thrilled I had to have been blushing! Needless to say we may have a new client soon.

The other two people basically just stood there with their chin on the floor and asked if it was Okay to ask me how much weight I had lost. I said "HECK YEAH! I have lost 80 pounds and other than the surgery, I feel GREAT!!"

I can't believe I actually feel comfortable in my own skin for the first time EVER! I mean it I cannot remember ever feeling so good about myself. Now I can't wait until rodeo and horse show season starts. There will be so many people that haven't seen me since at least October. Won't they all be shocked? I am even thinking about showing our yearling stud colt this year. I have never shown horses, that had always been Deanna's thing, but this year may be the year. Since there are classes where the horse is shown being led instead of being ridden, I can show the yearling even though he isn't old enough to ride. I am so excited.

Thanks Katie - I live for NSV's since, these days, I don't trust the scale. I don't know how much to take off for my cast and since I am doing some muscle building exercises I know that the scale numbers will be deceiving for a while.

On plan for today and I have already gotten in 33 ounces of water WOOHOO!

Wow, Bren! Reading that post.. your excitement is contagious!!

When does the show season start? I am so curious to hear how people will react!! You definitely should consider showing yourself.. what a proud moment that would be! And to do it along with your daughter, that would be a special show season for you to remember :)

About the cast.. I think I would be real creative with the scale to try and find out just how much that thing weighs.. lol.. things like putting the scale on the table and putting the casted leg on and then the uncasted leg on just to get a basic round number.. lol.. how funny that would look. :)

Anyways, only 3 more weeks.. that's great! And it will be nicer weather then too, how nice that the cast will be off in time for spring :)

Hey Kelly - The show season is actually just around the corner. Most organizations start having events in April. The colt will need a lot of work before he is ready to be shown, but I am so excited that I actually feel like I have the energy to do that work.

As far as the cast - I have done that trying to get an idea of how much it weighs. I am pretty sure it is about 6-10 pounds, but it is just hard to get a consistant number. When they take it off on the 21st, I am going to have them weigh it for me so I have an exact number for the contest. I don't want anyone to think I am cheating. ;)

Brenda..

I got your sweet card last night. What a lovely surprise to find that in my mailbox! It made me cry a little (in a good way). You are such a kind person, I really appreciate you very much.

Thank you again, it made my weekend. :)

Big hugs,

Kelly

I am so excited that I got my tax return. Next thing to do is get prices for a ticket to San Antonio to visit my buddy, aquarianskye. WOOO HHOOOO I cannot wait. I so need this vacation.

I also used some of the money to get some new clothes that were on clearance (MEGA cheap). I bought all sizes that were too small for summer, I KNOW that I will be able to wear them soon!

Well, I was thinking that all of the clothing I bought was going to be too small, but it turns out some of it actually fits NOW. Woo HOOO! I just got the CUTEST summer dresses yesterday at a closeout store - for fifty cents a piece because they need zippers put in them. Well, since my business name is FancyZippers, I guess I can handle that right? Two of them fit just a little on the snug side right now and two of them are about a 1/4 inch from zipping up (if the zippers worked). Anyway, I can't wait to be able to wear them on the River Walk in San Antonio in 3 weeks. I am leaving March 10th and I can't tell ya how super excited I am. Skye has been my biggest inspiration and bestest friend during this whole journey and I cannot wait to spend a week with her just doing girl stuff!

I forgot to weigh before I left the house this morning and I was out until after 3pm so I will weigh and measure tomorrow and post the results then.
As for the plan, I am on again then sorta on/off again, not really working the program as I should be, but close. I have decided that THIS HAS GOTTA stop and NOW! Close is not close enough and now I have the motivation of San Antonio and my new sun dresses to keep me focused.

Now I have three things to count down... my cast removal on Feb 21, my trip to Texas in March, and my weight loss.

Oh, BTW, I did lose about 200 pounds last week  - I dumped my so called "boy friend  ". I got sick and tired of everything being his way or no way. The worst part of the whole (short) relationship was that he kept sabatoging my success on the plan. There may be a guy out there for me, but it certainly wasn't him. Good riddance!
