Thanks to all that responded. I have been on and gone enough to know that MMT forum is finicky! Day 6 no cheats and feeling a little stronger on the TSFL front, but the cold and rainy weather has my fibromyalgia acting up. If is isn't one thing its another.

I imagine you feel better getting into the swing of things again? I have to laugh, every time I see your name I start humming in my head

He's a rodeo Romeo, cowgirls and bulls are his life
He loves what he does and he does what he loves every night

too funny, now we know how old I am...that song is dated.

Thanks everyone! I am excited. So much of my life and the world around me has been out of control, so it is nice to take back at least something.

That first 11 makes the icks of the first week all worth it. It also makes staying compliant the second week a little easier.

That is an awesome first week. Congratulations! I mentioned in Katie's journal, too, how much I liked your idea of the patriotic visuals. Such a neat idea to pick something uplifting but not at all related to weight loss. It keeps it private. If people ask why you're humming 'Hail to the Chief' you can just claim national pride.

Thanks Nickie - The whole plan is to make this a positive experience. Many have said it before and I am sure it will be said again, but if we focus on the "can't"s then we will only focus on the "can't"s. Instead of saying "I can't have that candy bar" think "I can have a bar and I will fit into that sexy dress I have been anxious to wear!" My family doesn't call TSFL/MF a diet. We refer to it as "the program". So when someone offers me a brownie, I just tell them that I have just started a new nutrition program and that I get my chocolate in the meals provided by TSFL. I am not saying I can't have the brownie - I am saying I don't need the brownie. Anyway, it works for me.

I am finally feeling in the zone the last couple of days. No more stomach grumbles, no more head-aches, just living again. Almost missed a meal today because I wasn't feeling hungry. Now THAT feels good.

Way to go Rodeo...yes, I am all about the yes and not the no! My husband looked at me like I was CRAZY when he asked how long I was going to be on program, I said I have committed to 180 days, he was like Beetlejuice with his eyes flying out of his head. Some look at this as a hard thing, for me I am looking at it as a means to healthy weight, which I want more than any yummy.

That's the thing. Once we make this a positive experience instead of a death march, we win. I have a cheese danish sitting on my counter. I bought it for my niece when she stayed over the other night. She didn't eat it, and there it sits. I CAN have it. Really - this is my house and I am in control, if I wanted to eat that danish all I would have to do open the package and eat it. I choose not to eat that danish because I am thinking of the positives of not eating it.

So much of this is a mind game.

Doing well today. Went a little overboard on my own allowance of peanut butter, but all in all it was a good day. I know I am in the zone because I am not getting hungry anymore --- YAY. That, and the lack of a chocolate craving, is making life very nice.

I weigh tomorrow. Hoping for another double digit loss - but will settle for anything!

Yes - the one food I don't think I can live without -- Peanut Butter!!!!!! Please do not read this as an outright okay to add peanut butter to your program. I was on the plan in 2007 and was very successful despite adding a couple TBSP of peanut butter to my celery 2 or 3 times a week. This is an individual thing that worked for me. Eating something that can act as a trigger for you is very risky and can often kick you out of fat burning. If you are desperate for PB you might try the PB2. It is the powder that is left when they press the oil out of peanuts. Add water and you get a resemblance of actual peanut butter. PB2 is good when added to MF puddings for a little change.

Physically, I am feeling pretty decent. I know I am on track with the program. I needed to gain control over at least one thing in my life. So much is going on around me that I cannot control and chaos was about to ensue. One baby step at a time!
