You're so good! I set my alarm an hour early today to get up and hit the treadmill. Instead I hit the snooze and went back to sleep! I did a really long cardio/weight workout last night, though. Have fun at the gym! :D

No need for me to set an alarm. I am awake at 7ish every AM. The difference is that I usually have no place to be so I can lollygag around for a while. Mornings are my worst with the fibro - I litterally have to lay there and assess what hurts this time. Getting motivated to go to the gym is hard when you hurt. The thing that gets me up and going is knowing the movement helps ease the pain. It hurts like the Dickens to get started, but I know I feel better at the end.

I finally got another appointment with Earl tomorrow at 2:30pm. He really likes the story of my journey and he said he can't wait to become a part of it. That made me feel pretty good and will serve as some motivation.

Still trying to determine if I am going to the gym today. I need to get these quilts done and I need to get to the fair one last time before it ends tomorrow. Maybe I will hit the gym this evening.

Deanna comes home on Monday YAY!!! I really do miss that kid!

You'll probably feel better if you get the quilts done first. I know the upcoming show has been weighing on you and you still have a lot to do. Having one thing out of the way will take off some of the pressure.

Yay, you have an appointment with Earl! He sounds like such a happy and encouraging trainer! I can't wait to hear about ya'lls first meet and to find out if you like it!

Okay, so I didn't get to the gym today at all, but I did walk around the fair a good deal. Not enough to cover me as a real workout, but better than nothing. I decided that the chance to see Bucky Covington in concert was just too good to pass up. I enjoyed myself and feel more relaxed about things too.

A few members of my committee showed up today to help me clear some things off my show to-do list. YAY! Quilts are on the list for Sunday after church.

PT first thing in the AM then meeting with Earl at 2:30 (methinks I will make up for today's lost workout)

Wow, what a day!!! PT in the AM was alright, but I must have been dehydrated or something from being outside in the heat all day because I just wasn't up to par. I rode the bike for 30 minutes and did some of my basic ankle stuff, but I just couldn't hit my groove. I ended up begging off my treadmill work.

I did go in to see Earl. Man, usually a workout doesn't catch up with me for a couple of days, but I am feeling this one already. If I thought I was anywhere near getting fit, I was seriously mistaken. The man took me through the paces for sure! The great thing about it though is I actually had fun. :whattha: My regular gym routine is pretty basic and I kinda just get through it, but having someone there actually cheering me on was a whole new world. He wouldn't let me stop when I only had one or two reps to do and I was struggling. AND he kept telling me what a great frame I have and what good natural form I have and how he wishes he could really "train" me. Now, I am sure he says that to everyone, but he seemed like he really meant it. I am going to see if I can work my finances so that I can see him 3 times a week. It would mean taking $75 a week out of an already strained budget, but I think I need this - what's more is I think I actually want it.

I am wondering if I will feel that way in the morning when I can't move.... :roflmao:

Usually, after-exercise-soreness occures the 2nd or 3rd day following the work-out. If that is the case, I will be dead tomorrow or Tuesday. Just kidding, but I am pretty sore today. I kinda like feeling a little soreness because it lets me know that I actually accomplished something.

For my encore I finished not one but BOTH of the horse show quilts this afternoon! I am so relieved to have those done so far ahead of schedual. Typically, I would be finishing something like that up midnight or 1am the morning I need them  . I am rarely ahead of schedual.

Still struggling with the scale. I haven't been 100% compliant so I am greatful to just be maintaining for now. Perhaps once I get this show over with my stress level will come down and I can get my head in the game to finish to my goal.

Deanna comes home late tomorrow night! YAY!! My mom leaves for Convention in Florida on Tuesday. I get stuck at home with my dad - woo hoo --- can you feel my excitement. ;)

Anyway, I am off to buy some laying hens. Gotta love those fresh eggs!

Yay, Bren! I'm so glad you enjoyed your workout with Earl! I love it that we're discovering a whole new level of exercise together! :weightlift:

Great job on the quilts! I know it's a relief to be able to mark them off the to-do list. You'll have to take lots of pics of the horse show to share with us!

I hope your week with you dad goes smoothly. I know you'll be glad to have Deanna back.

I know it's hard when there are so many stresses going on to stay OP. I feel like I have to make the decision not to cheat over and over every day, all day long. I wish I could just make the decision once and for all and that would be the end of the temptation - right? *sigh* It's exhausting! Exercising has really helped me in this area - if I'm goin' thru the effort of working out - not my favorite pasttime - I don't wanna waste the effort by going off plan. You have come so far, and you are such a strong person, I know you're making the right choices to get you to that ultimate goal!

Thank you so much for your friendship and support. I'm so lucky to have such a wonderful cheerleader on my side! You're my hero!

Thanks Tex - your excitement about exercising helps me get my butt in gear when I would rather lounge around the house. You are so kind to say such sweet things. I feel like such a failure right now. Even though I am working out, I feel like I am wasting that energy right along with throwing money down the drain while I keep going off plan. I am noting the word "feel" in those last two sentances and I realize that I am allowing my emotions to take over, yet again. I have to remind myself that just because I "feel" a particular way doesn't make it so.

That is the trap of borderline; the feelings are so strong that they actually become reality. This may not make any sense to anybody but me, but getting it in writing helps me figure it out. Its like I tell Deanna sometimes, "Just because I say that something you did was stupid, doesn't mean that you are stupid. The "act" or "action" was in poor judgement, but that doesn't mean you can't ever have good judgement." Feeling like a failure doesn't make me one, I have made poor decisions recently, but that doesn't mean that I will never make another good choice.

Okay, I am done trying to sort that all out and I am better (notice I didn't say I "feel" better) having picked those emotions apart.

You did a great job of sorting out how you really feel, then stepping back and putting it all in perspective! In the total picture, you have come so far! You are making the right decisions to get you to where you want to go. Like seeing Earl, keeping up with PT, staying active in you rchurch and community. You are on the right track every day, Girl! :D

Thanks for adding some outside perspective for me Tex. :bighug: It is so important for me to try to look at things from the outside instead of always being so emotionally involved with everything.

I am not feeling quite so sore today. Physical therapy at 4pm will workout any muscle soreness I still have. Tomorrow is my 2nd appointment with Earl, this one for a lower body work-out. :weightlift:

I had an appointment with my foot doctor today to go over progress reports. We are happy with the way things are going except for the place on my heal where he put the pin to hold the relocated bone together. Either the pin or some scar tissue is protruding out into the fatty tissue of the back of my heal. I feel it most when I put on tennis shoes or after I have been off my feet for a period of time. His answer is to remove the screw. Yes, that means another surgery, but a very minor one that will only keep my off my feet for a week at the most. After all I have been through, I feel I deserve to be able to put on shoes and walk with no pain in that foot/ankle. I am okay with yet one more procedure.

T-minus 9 hours and counting until Deanna arrives. :bouncieball: I have missed her so much the last couple of weeks.

Now, off to work on signs for the big event (horse show) on Saturday.

Reading your journal is so much more fun for me than writing in, I mean, resuscitating, my own. It died a painful death about a week after it first said hello to the world. I actually went back 53 pages and read yours straight through. Good read. Two  thumbs  up!!
Don't really care as long as everything's better than yesterday was...
