I know that black is slimming and all. I do have black pants just like the grey ones. My reason for not going with black is because it is slimming. I want people to KNOW that my body is slimmer, not think that I look slim in those pants.

We are definately settled on the red sweater though! I can't wait!!!!

Today was a pretty good day. I got all my barn chores done and carried in wood. I was curious about how many steps I take in a day and I can't afford even the cheapest of pedometers so today I counted some of my steps. Just carrying in the wood is 125 steps round trip from the pile to the fireplace and it takes 12 trips to fill up the rack. Out to the barn is 600 steps round trip and I make that trip 3 times in the morning. The aisle way in the barn is 100 steps round trip and I travel that while cleaning stalls about 10 times. That was all before noon. Seeing that all written down helps me realize that I am not the lazy slob that I feel like sometimes.

I am trying very hard to boost my intake of water and to use Tawanda's expression BLECH and double BLECH!

Tomorrow is the big day for the 4-H banquet. Since my mom had to have emergency surgery on Thursday night the family did not leave for Montana as planned. This means Deanna will be going to the banquet with me. She really gets a kick out of people noticing my weight loss. At 16, I am impressed that she is actually "proud" of me. Nobody has to wonder if I am proud of her - just look at my Photo Bucket Albums. But how many 16 year olds are really proud of their parents?

I was supposed to bake cookies for a church event tomorrow night, but I am not in a good state of mind for that so I think I am going to buy some from the grocery bakery instead. While I NEVER resort to store bought baked goods, I feel I must this time to protect myself from a probable very slippery slope.

Thanks to all for your votes on my outfit. I will try on both the grey and the black pants for my family and have them make the final call on which ones look best with the red sweater!

Can't wait to hear about all the great comments you get! ;)

Good choice on the cookies. The ones in the bakery are pretty good so no one will feel cheated  Good call girl! You are making great choices that any 16 yr old would be proud of!

Well, yesterday was amazing. I started getting complements even before I got to the banquet. Since I decided to get store bought cookies for church, I had to go to to grocery. As I was driving in the parking lot I saw a friend of mine that I used to work with. We haven't seen each other since June. I honked at her and she ran over and gushed all over me. I was still sitting in my car and she went nuts over how good I looked. WOW!

The banquet was cool too. As soon as I walked in one of the moms took one look at me and said "You've lost a lot of weight haven't you?" I just smiled and nodded. Later on a couple of the TEENAGERS even said something. People at our table couldn't believe that I was able to stick with a veggie plate some cheese and 4 small meatballs when there were all kinds of pies and sweets available. I think I must have had the biggest smile on my face the whole time because everytime I turned around someone else was saying how great I looked. Many commented that I not only looked great, but that I looked like I also FEEL great and I do!

After all of that today is kind of a let down, but I can ride on the joy from last night for a long time!

Thanks for all your help and well wishes!!

Oh, I forgot - I did wear the red sweater with a white cami under it and a nice pair of black slacks. I was wearing the AE grey and white stripped sweater and grey pants at church and when my friend saw me.

I am still at the stage where I look in the mirror and still see all my fat rolls. Until I look at before and now photos, or put on a smaller size, I just can't see a difference. So, having people notice is a really good feeling right now.

Funny story - I was in Wal-Mart on Friday and ran into a 20-something year old kid that I used to work with. He looked at me and said "Wow, you are really..." as he is motioning his hands in a shrinking fashion. I smiled and nodded and told him I have lost over 60 pounds since Sept 21. His response was hilarious.... "Well, it shows. You look a lot bet... I mean you really look bet... You look GREAT!." He was trying very hard not to insult me as he gave me a compliment!

Having the younger "kids" notice is a big thing for me. I don't give them enough credit for being very observant. With all this attention how can I not stay on track?

I had such a great day today. I suprised my daughter and sprung her from school (I am SUCH a rebel). She was supposed to be out for the Montana trip anyway. We went to the mall and hung out. I even got called a "COOL MOM" several times! How sweet is that? She even felt at ease enough to confide in me about some things. Nothing big - no "hum-dingers" or anything, just a few little things she was nervous to tell me. Now, I am hoping that my reaction - or actually my lack of reaction will encourage her to trust me more often. While we were shopping she even realized that I don't have to shop in the PLUS sizes anymore and commented that "next month, I'll be shopping in the juniors". MAN I JUST LOVE THAT KID!!!

I have been able to remain on plan through out the banquets and such. Exercise has been limited to my routine in the barn and around the house with a few added lunges and such. I am OK with that for right now.

My appointment with the GYN regarding the cyst on my ovary is tomorrow morning. While I know that ovarian cancer is extremely rare, I am still a little worried. God is in control, though and I am OK with whatever may come.

We have one more award's banquet this year on Dec 1st for another horse club. This is a whole different group of people. I am hoping to lose the inch or two that will put me comfortably into that red dress so I can wear it to that one. If not, maybe my daughter will want to help me pick out something.

I had been in a gloomy mood recently, even close to a depressive state, but since last weekend and after my day with my daughter, I am feeling pretty good and upbeat. It is a good feeling, and one that I can get used to having.

At 15 I got a tatoo and the following summer I flew out to visit my mom in Hawaii. When she picked me up at the airport I said, "Mom, you are going to find out anyway, I got a tatoo." She said, "Me too!" I said, "Mine is on my ankle." She said, "Mine is on my FACE!" :nana:

It was hilarious! (She got those tatoo eyebrows)

It's great that you are connecting more!

Glad to here you got out of your rut!

How funny Charity! I want to get a tatoo on my right ankle to hide my surgery scars when I am done with the surgeries. Not sure what I want to get yet, but I am looking. My daughter wants to get her dad's name, birth and death dates put on her ankle/foot. I told her if she still wants it next year, then we will go in together and have them done.

I had my GYN appt today. He took some blood to look for cancer markers, but he really believes that it will come back negative. He wants to keep an eye on the cyst and just wait and see. If it starts to bother me, he can do a scope and remove it.

I did some shopping today since I had some bras to return (I shrunk out of them before I could even take the tags off). I tried on a bunch of clothes in sizes 16 and 18, but I all I bought for me were a couple sets of flannel jammies. Things fit and I liked them, but most of it was pretty dressy stuff and I just don't get dressed up much. Can't see the point in getting something that will just hang in the closet even if it does fit. The NSV's of the items I picked off the rack (in the Misses dept) actually fitting were enough to make me happy. Found a SUPER cute outfit for my daughter, best part is SHE LIKES IT! She tried it on and MAN does it make her look S-K-I-N-N-Y! She is a size 7 but is just a little bit poochy in the hips and thighs. She would like to lose about 10-15 pounds so I told her she could try a 5 & 1 for a few weeks if she wanted to. So now the whole house is on either weight loss or transition. That will make T-Day easier.

Hope everyone has a super holiday and has much to be THANKFUL FOR! I know I have many blessings to count and thank God for!
