First Day Down

Postby LovenElvis » January 20th, 2006, 10:25 am

:D I made it through the first day and that was even going to the movies with my hubby :hi5:

I have to say, I was quite shocked to the taste of a lot of the stuff. So far I have had the Maple/Brown sugar oatmeal, chocolate & vanilla shake, smore's bar, hot chocolate, chocolate pudding and now I'm finishing off my chicken noodle soup (which needs some salt ;))

I need to change up the oatmeal a little, when I did it, it was powdery (spell?) However, I will add a little more water to it next time. I was afraid to make it too soupy.

By the time dinner came around, I was feeling the hunger...so baked some chicken and threw together some veggies and I was better, the rewared was my pudding. Today has been a little better, however, I'm traveling to families tonight, so I need to pack up my medifast as well...this will be a test to see if I can do this outside my home

I have drunk more water as well. I had to leave the movie theater twice to use the rest room

However, my crystal light is awesome as well, I have always kept that around.

Anyway, thanks for all the support and one more day and we'll see how things go :):)

Day 4 started

Postby LovenElvis » January 22nd, 2006, 10:01 am

Well I made it through the trip down with my family in WV. Yesterday was very hard and I found myself forgetting to eat my meat and veggie. We were driving back home when I realized that I was hungry. All my bars were packed very tightly in the back and I would have to wait till I got home. :x

However, I tried the tomato soup and that was really good. I was  that it was so good. Now, I can relate with anyone with exploding drinks. I was getting ready to shake up my hot chocolate yesterday and it exploded everywhere :? I was not happy :)

Anyway, I tried making the hotmeal a littel sweeter this morning, with splenda, and it takes so much better, plus a little more water and it work great.

There was a couple of times that I wanted to cheat and I just thought, we'll I can start over, but i didn't want to go back through it again. I told myself that my three days were almost up and that things would start happening for myself soon. So while my husband and children ate their chicken mcnuggets and fries I ate one of my smore's bars :)

I have to admit, the orage shake is way too sweet for me! I froze it but it was too sweet still. So the vanilla and orange shakes are just too sweet for me, at least for now.

Well, I'm on day 5 and doing pretty good. I have to say that the chicken noodle soup is much better with the boullion cubes :D

I haven't weighted myself yet. I'm trying to hang in until Thursday or maybe Wednesday night ;)

I'm finding the foods that I'm not liking too much, but I keep trying them in different ways to narrow them down more. After Jan called the other night, and I was able to ask a few more questions, I have been a little more confident in what I'm experiementing with.

However, I feel good and it is rubbing off onto my hubby. He went shopping on Sunday and bought a lot of heathly things for him to eat :) He also made mash califlower for dinner lastnight to go with my fish :)

It takes a while to get into the swing of things.

Let's face it, all the sugar and fatty foods we have grown accustomed to eating are very tasty but they sure are not good for us. After a while, we get used to eating this way - soon the weight loss will motivate you and as your palate clears, you will appreciate the pure taste of vegetables and lean meat. Now cauliflower is good but it can never taste as great as a plate of french fries BUT cauliflower looks a whole lot better on our backside than french fries - the fires stick, the cauliflower doesn't!

Happy thinnin'....

Agree

Postby LovenElvis » January 24th, 2006, 6:57 pm

I would have to most defiently agree with you Nancy.

However, the califlower mashed with a little chives was pretty good. However, everytime I went to get a bite, I saw mash potatoes and the taste wasn't there ;)

I'm starting to like somethings, but still working through it

What a great idea to use chives with the cauliflower! You have a super idea there.

Hey! You could use a spritz of "I Can't Believe it's not Butter" and some garlic and 'pretend' you have garlic smashed potatoes!

That is a great idea. I'll have to pick some up next time at the store.

My hubby is great at coming up with ideas to mix things. I'm trying to get him to find other ideas for the vanilla shakes :)

Check out the Lean Cuisine for Shake Ideas. I can handle a Vanilla shake mixed with a teaspoon of instant coffee granules, cinnamon and nutmeg; mixed with Diet Barq's Diet Root Beer or one of the tart Crystal Light flavors such as Pink Grapefruit or Lemon Ade.

Postby LovenElvis » January 26th, 2006, 5:17 pm

I have finally found what to do with my Vanilla shakes.

I found the Strawberry Shortcake idea and I love it!

I feel as if I have cheated each time I drink it.
I'm too full in the end and the it tastes so good!
