Quick question...

Postby Joelie » March 21st, 2006, 11:17 am

This is day one for me and so far so good.
My question...is it ok for my stomach to growl between meals? It hasn't up until this point. I am about 45 minutes away from my next meal, which will make it 3 hours from my last meal.

Is this ok? Or should I go ahead and eat now?

Joelie,

This is normal. The first 3 days will be like that as your body adjusts. Try having some extra water to settle it, or some boulion or hot tea. Do you have any of the snacks avilable? cup of sugar free jello, cellery, pickles medifast fast soup or crackers...

It is alright to eat every 2 hours, just make sure you don't leave yourself too much time at the end of the day with no meals left.

I don't today. But I will tomorrow! LOL.

It's really not bad at all. Chugging away on the water is most helpful.
I was just worried about my body going into starvation mode and throwing things off.

Not much longer now though...I can do it.

Thanks so much!

I will eat after only two hours quite often...probably more often than I wait three hours.

Sometimes, especially at the beginning, a growly stomach can be the result of too much stomach acid. If you experience a growly stomach tomorrow, try taking an antacid, and see if that helps calm things down.

Edit to say: But Ascicles advice about eating after two hours is still good - my first three meals are usually spaced two or two-and-a-half hours apart.

Hi There,
As long as you eat all your meals every day -- generally 5/1 or 6/0 -- you don't have to worry about your body going into starvation mode. It's when you start to play with the program and skip meals because "I'm just not hungry" that you get yourself in trouble. Just be very compliant, drink all your water and eat all your meals and you'll be doing great and parting with the pesky pounds.

Thanks for all the advise!

Dayna...I have GERD and already take RX acid reducers. Do you think maybe a Tums or something over the counter would still help?
It really wasn't bothersome to me though...I was just concerned. :D

WTG blondeangel! Now how the heck do I go about getting my own advisor???? I sent a message to obtain one...but never received a reply.
