Question: Salad Dressing & Carbs.

Postby Diet Diva » January 11th, 2005, 8:01 pm

Hi Folks,

I have a question about the issue of salad dressing. (I'm on the 5 and 1 plan.) In the Quick Start manual the guidelines list " 1-2 T. of fat free or low-fat dressing." There's no mention of using low carb or low calorie. So there I was using my FF and LF dressing and not even thinking about the carb. issue until I read some info on this forum that talked about using low carb. or carb. free dressings. Yikes! Should I be concerned about this and start going carb free in addition to FF? Or.... is the issue of a mere 13 weeny carbs a mute point in the big scheme of things?

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated...you all are so good about sharing info and I sure need some!

Yours,

2000 calorie daily would equate to 300 gm rqd carbs daily
500 (Medifast) would be 75 gm rqd carbs daily.

2-TWO (notice the caps?) tablespoons of a LOW CAL or FF dressing is fine.

Remember, you are only having one L/G a day. 2T of dressing low/FF will not even make a difference.

Just be realistic. If you think it’s wrong, it probably is. If it’s low cal, or fat free, it’s fine.
