Grayson, your emotions must be running from extreme excitement to a bit of nervousness. I wish you calmness and the best medical care possible. I'm sure it will be rough during the healing, but I bet you are going to be so very happy with the results.

Right now I'm more excited about having a new body! I'm not nervous now, but I'm sure I will be in the few days leading up to it. I'm traditionally a quick healer, so I hope I can get back on my feet soon from this.

Hey, check back in when you're able. I think we're all curious to hear how it went.

I'm 35 and was only fat for 5 years. From my high weight of 156 (pre MF) I had more than 100 to lose. My skin has bounced back wonderfully. I have a bit of arm waddle but it's not that bad especially since I started doing wall pushups. I still have fat on my stomach that won't be gone when I hit goal unless some form of miracle occurs. My stomach looks a bit deflated but isn't hanging. I do worry that if I lose 10-15 more pounds I will have hanging skin there. But I would rather have hanging skin than fat. I thought my boobs would really look bad but they are holding up quite well. I will consider surgery after a year of continued exercise and healthy eating after I reach goal. A tummy tuck and a boob lift/reduction as needed. Sometimes I am mad at myself for not losing as fast as some have but it may have helped my skin stay in better shape.

Grayson, I was thinking it was soon --- you've been on my mind and will definitely be in my thoughts tomorrow. I look forward to your updates after the surgery....

Take care!

Thanks! I'm getting a little anxious, but more for the recovery than the actual surgery. I have 100% trust and confidence in my doctor, and I have no fears about how the surgery will turn out. I just don't do well if I can't move around, so I'm sure I'll be a pain in the butt for a few days after the surgery. I'm hearing lots of conflicting reports about how long I'll be down. I've read many reports that say that people are out for 3 weeks, but my doctor thinks I'll definitely be back by the Monday after Thanksgiving.

Either way, I'm going to be so glad to get rid of this big block of skin hanging down from my stomach, and all the skin around my butt. Can't wait to see how my clothes fit!

Well, I'm alive. The surgery took about 4.5 hours, and the Dr. removed 4.5 feet of skin. It weighed about 4.5-5 pounds. I went to a recovery facility Thursday evening, and didn't feel all that bad that night. Yesterday (Friday) was a little rough, but I think my problems were mostly from the drugs.

I've been trying to move around, and I'm getting better every day. At first I was so hunched up I couldn't hardly move, but now I can walk fairly well upright.

The pain isn't all that bad, mostly I just feel a lot of pulling when I try to walk, stretch, move around, etc. Probably the worst part is the drainage tubes; I have four and they have to be emptied pretty often. I almost pulled one out this morning, that's probably the worst pain I've had.

I'll post more updates as I can. I did get a sneak peek at my stomach earlier. Looks pretty good!

Awesome. I'll be there eventually... 180# so far and 50 to go, so I'm gonna have quite a bit removed. Some mentioned that I'll probably need to have a naval made as mine will be removed with my skin sagging so low.

Thanks for your updates and keep us in "the know" ;)
