Question about water consumption.

Postby ascicles » April 21st, 2006, 7:33 am

I drink A LOT of water. I generally get in around 160 oz. of water per day. According to what I've read in the past, you should drink up to half as many oz. of water as your entire body weight. For instance, if you weight 200 pounds, you should drink a maximum of 100oz.

Well, I am closing in on 320 pounds. As such, 160oz. is almost half of my body weight at this point.

Should I cut back on the water, or can I continue to drink the same amount since it is what my body is used to?

I drink much more than I should, using that formula, and I feel fine. I usually have 118 to 135 ounces a day, when by that method I should be having only 72. As long as you feel OK and aren't having problems with sodium or electrolyte levels, I think you're probably fine.

I would say yes, as long as you don't start feeling "water logged". Good Luck!

If you're able to get it down, keep it up.

That is a lot of water but you're a big guy, ascicles and hydration is really important. Medifast is dehydrating and our weight loss success is enhanced when we drink plenty of water to flush out the toxins from the burned fat ( I call it our 'fat ashes'!)

:secret: Hmm...remember the other thread we had going about wearing a skirt? Sometimes there IS an advantage to wearing skirts when you're on your way to the sandbox in a hurry...no belts, zippers or buttons to impede the flow and to deal with! :roflmao:
