Question about Ready to Drink Shakes

Postby Jims Chick » March 23rd, 2004, 11:18 am

I'm thinking about ordering some of the ready to drink shakes while they are on sale and had a couple of questions I would appreciate some help with for those of you who have tried them. First of all do they taste good? and more importantly....do they give you that full feeling that you get with the other shake mixes? I've noticed some of the other products dont make you fill as satisfied as the shakes. I was hoping to be able to take some RTD boxes with me to the beach next weekend. Please give me input!!!

Hey Julia!

I LOOOOVE the RTD shakes! I am always on the run, so throwing a day's supply of them in a lunch cooler is perfect for me. They taste better than the mix, in my opinion. I havent tried the vanilla RTDs, only the chocolate.

Yummm yummmm!

Julia,

I also LOVE them - they are so handy to keep in the car or your bag. I have used them on a business trip and also find then handy on the weekends when I am running around. I have only tried the chocolate - which are good even at room temp.

Right now the FIT's are on sale...stock-up!

The RTD shakes are AWESOME!! I love the Choc. the best...the vanilla are good too..I have to have them COLD though...sometimes I heat up the Choc. shakes at night for a treat with a packet of splenda and a splash of butter rum Divinchi sugar free syrup...and its soooo yummy!

I think the RTD shakes have a creamier texture to them than the powder mix ones...although I love them both..the RTD shakes are just so convienent!! I went to walmart and bought one of those little coolers..its just a small vinyl bag with room enuf for a few RTD shakes and a small FREEZE IT bag to keep them cold...and it keeps them cold all day long!!
now ...no excuses to get hungry during the day..no matter where I am!!

:coach: so theres my roar...THE RTD SHAKES ARE GREAT!!!!

Hi Julie,
I have to agree with the girls. I use the RTD's exclusively, for me it's a matter of convenience. I think the chocolate is very tasty and I sometimes mix it in a blender with some ice for a 'milkshake'. I also tried a case of the vanilla and at first I was gagging them down but now they are tolerable .... but I've never really liked vanilla anyway.

There's another thread about the FIT ones that are on sale ..... with what Nancy had to say about them taste and composition wise, you may want to take a look at it.

I think the RTD's are better tasting than the do-it-yourselfers.

Pam,

Nancy addressed this in the last newsletter. Here's what she said ...............

"FYI

The FIT! Chocolate Drinks and the FIT! Peanut Butter Bars are both on sale while supplies last for the month of March 2004.

These products have virtually the same formulations as the Dutch Choc Medifast 55 Ready to Drink shakes and the Peanut Butter Supplement Bars. The Fit! Peanut Butter Bars have one more gram of sugar and carbohydrate than the regular Medifast Peanut Butter Supplement Bar. The Fit! Chocolate Ready to Drink has 20mg more of potassium than the Choc Medifast 55 RTD. They can be used by adolescents or adults interchangeably. "

I just ordered a bunch...... so Friday I'll give ya my new and improved educated opinion.

Pam: Here is a snip from Nancy's newsletter - as you can see the FIT are interchangeable with the 55 - stock up, they are such a good deal!

Thanks Carrie and Karen---

As usual come to the Forum and you will Find!!!!

I thought I'd read something about this --- I too have put in an order - the drawback I always had with the RTD shakes was how they traveled - warm-cold and how they need to be stored and frankly, the price...$2.49 each---OUCH! But I am sure that I will enjoy the convenience so much that if I like them the price will no longer be an issue. FUNNY coming from someone that could spend 15.00 at a drive-thru at the drop of the hat in the past ---- oh well, I'm growing... while I'm shrinking!!!!!!!!!!

I ordered 3 cases of RTD Shakes yesterday. I also ordered some of the others that I can use at home. I always mix my shakes with a little ice and a small electric hand mixer (that you're not supposed to use ice with). I figure my RTD shakes are great for the 2 I consume at work. I'll make my normal thick icy shake for the drive to work and my evenings. What a great deal!!

I just placed an order for the readymade shakes and it will be convenient when for whatever reasons I will not have the time to prepare the shake or need to be on the go.

I should be receiving soon and can't wait to test it out. :-P

Ok Folks, got my order yesterday and taste-tested the FIT RTD. In my opinion the FITs are a bit thinner in consistency, not quite as creamy as the regular RTD's ..... but the chocolate flavor is just as good. They're totally acceptable and yummy.

Do note though that the package I got had expirations of June 18th, so I wouldn't get more than a couple months worth.

Keep shakin' people,
Today's a brand new day and we're all lucky to be here!

Hi Guys---

Ditto to everything Susan just said -- 3 cases and I like the other stuff so much better --- thanks for the positive attitude Susan and I am also hoping I will get used to them and I will carry them with me - it will be easier than trying to mix shakes on the go ....

Anyone ever doctor these bad-boys up or add anything to them to help that aftertaste (which I don't get with the real deal shakes)

Love and care to all ---- you are all doing great and rememeber...
