Thanks for stopping by, Hol!

I didn't workout yesterday so I worked out longer today. We'll see if gets me out of this .5 pounds a week phase that I've been in for the past couple of weeks.

You ROCK, Queenie!!
I used to LOVE that machine...ours was called "The Gauntlet."
Back in the day, I would run on it for up to an hour at a time
and hardly even lose my breath. Ahhh, glory days!

Keep up the great work, girlie ~ you're inspiring people everywhere you go!!

Sojo, you and Hols were much more fit/active than I ever was! I can't imagine running on the stairclimber since I was barely coordinated enough to walk on it.

It looks like my extended workout paid off yesterday - down more than .5 pounds for the first time in 3 weeks. Yesterday I did the Biggest Loser dvd cardio and scuplt, then I jogged/walked 2.75 miles. To be fair, I did add some new workouts to my routine this past week (the stairmaster and climber) so maybe they made the difference. Today I think I will just do Slim in 6, maybe jog afterwards. The weather is so nice, it's a shame not to take advantage of it by exercising outside.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Queenie, I'm sorry for asking this if you've mentioned it before - and you most likely have and I missed it - but are you on the regular 5&1 plan? It just seems like you burn so many calories in your workouts, and I'm wondering how you're still losing?

Of course we are all different - and to be fair, I never tried working out like you do, so maybe I would still lose, too - or lose more than I have been, even. But I was curious how long you've been doing all this exercise, and if you're in the process of ramping it up then what did you start with and how long ago did you start?

Hey Nickie,

I do the regular 5 and 1 plan. I've been exercising since my third week on the program. I started the C25k and going to Curves about 6 weeks after I started MF. From there, I've been doing workout dvds like the Biggest Loser and Slim in 6 as well as some jogging and some workouts on the elliptical machine and the stairmaster. I haven't felt like I need to add any additional supplements even though some days I'm hungrier than usual but I think that is normal. The only time I haven't seen good losses is these past few weeks when I've had some off plan foods (half a brownie, a couple chocolate truffles, whole wheat pizza crust) here and there.

I really think that for me to lose well, I need to exercise.

That's cool, Queenie. I think I've been afraid that exercising would slow my losses, so that's why I'm basically waiting to be at or very near goal before I start. I think if I start seeing stalls and things, that will be my cue to start exercising. For now, just changing my eating is working so I'll stick with that! I know, though, that being active is going to be a big key to maintenance. It is a goal of mine, just not a real defined one yet.

Thanks for sharing the information. Now I know where all your energy comes from!

Thanks Hol!

This morning I did a cardio workout from Self magazine where you sprint for 30 seconds and recover for 90 for 25 minutes. I felt pretty good after that so I decided to take a walk. I didn't really have any set distance for the walk so I judged how far I would go by listening to a new album I downloaded. When the album was over, I turned around and walked back home. I checked how far I walked on mapquest - 5.52 miles. Combined with 2.25 miles from the treadmill, I walked/jogged quite a bit more than I realized.

Hope everyone is having a great Labor Day!

Your fitness level is impressive. You've done such a great job of getting the weight off and moving more.

Your doing great with all the exercise Queenie. I'm hoping to start walking pretty soon. My feelings are pretty much the same as Nickie's as far as the exercising goes. I know I need to for long term weight loss but I really wanted to be closer to goal. Although, your weight loss and exercising at the same time seems to have worked great in the amount of time you have been on the program, that might make me reconsider.

I'm just catching up! Your excercise schedule is motivating...you'll get out of this .5 thing...maybe it's your body's version of a plateau?

Wow Queenie, that is some impressive exercising. I'm still doing my power walks up and down hills, but it is time to add something else. The C25K got moved to the back burner for me, but I think I am going to join a gym on a trial membership. You are sure an inspiration to get the body moving though! :D

Reading Queenie's journal always makes me whiny over not having a sports bra that does the job. I want to be like QUEENIE!!!My last resort is buying two bras from Title Nine and wearing them together, probably over a regular bra. It worked in the past but my chest wasn't this big. So waiting for them to get here.

Thank you, lovely ladies, for stopping by! I would not be exercising or still on medifast if it were not for this wonderful group of people who are struggling right along with me.

And Biki, I want to be like you! I was looking at your gratitude pics yesterday thinking w o w. Horizontal stripes. I have a party to go to on Saturday (just a birthday party/cookout) and I think I will wear this cute tank with horizontal stripes. It will be my ode to Bike :) I hope your sports bras come soon. Exercising has absolutely been the most rewarding aspect of this plan. I know that some people can lose without exercising, but on the first day of classes (Tuesday) I had an NSV that was all due to exercise. I had class on the 5th floor. Last semester (and the ones before that) I would always try to get to class early so I could take the elevator without anyone seeing me have to use it for just one floor. And nevermind walking up to the 5th floor. That never happened. Well on Tuesday I took the stairs to the fifth floor and I wasn't even out of breath when I got to my classroom. Unbelievable! For the last two years I have gone out of my way to get to class early enough to take the elevator. In my old building, I would go so far as to walk down the stairs to the basement so I could ride up to the second floor because I didn't want people to see me get on the elevator to go from the first to the second floor. Crazy. I would avoid walking to class with people just so I wouldn't have to walk up the stairs with them. Not anymore!
