My first day!

1 Chocolate Shake
2 Oatmeal Raisin Bar
3 Chicken Noodle Soup
4 Grilled chicken breast and salad
5 Hot Cocoa

I woke up late today and didn't get started early enough to get all of the Medifast meals in  . I should do better tomorrow.

Hi there! Welcome!

You really should get in all 5 every day, even if it means doubling up. If you don't get enough calories it can backfire on you, your body will think it's starving and will refuse to let any fat go.

Looking forward to getting to know you. :)

Thanks, Pashta! I intend to get all 5 in and I should have doubled up tonight. There is still time before I go to bed, though.

Just a little more info: I'm 26, 5'5 and a grad student. I'm coming from on/off Atkins and the Medifast commercials got me.

The only trouble I've had so far is the oatmeal. I couldn't swallow the second spoonful. So far, everything else has been ok. I can't wait to see the scale start going down. Everyone's success is so encouraging.

Thanks again!

Oh, that's a shame. I love the oatmeal! I use only 5 ozs of water to mix it, put it in the microwave for 1min 30 secs, let it sit for a minute or two then stir it up and it's consistency is like regular oatmeal almost.

If you really can't stomach it maybe you can try adding a packet of splenda or some cinnamon to it. :) There are recipes you can try to use to make something of the products that you don't really care for. Oatmeal is used in many hehe.. including "cookies".

Are you going to get a weight ticker? I think they're so neat. ;)

Welcome Queenie!

The oatmeal, I did not care for it a bit when I first began MF, but now, it is a favorite breakfast. If you are like many on MF, you will notice a difference in how the foods taste once you've been away from sugary foods for awhile (just my experience and one I've read that others have experienced).

Hi Unca (I think that's what people call you here, right?),

You just made my day! The one's by summer? It just sounds different when someone else says it. Thank you for the encouragement!

Hi Queenie and welcome! You have found the perfect place to be. Everyone is so good about helping out around here. :goteam:

I definitely add splenda to my oatmal and sometimes I add just a touch of sugar-free maple syrup. (a very small amount) It seems to give it a little better taste.

I'm always really excited about seeing new people join the forum. I look forward to your input and to sharing in your journey.

Is there a place where people post what they eat everyday? I'm just wondering how people schedule their days and meals away from home.

Thanks!

Thanks!

I post everything on fitday but also keep a written journal of my meal times and water consumption. Feel free to post your meal times in your journal here too.

5 days in (4 lbs down-don't tell anyone about what happened Sunday, though)...I realize I like the hot products so much more than I like the cold ones, well except for the maple and brown sugar oatmeal. By hot products I mean chicken noodle soup, beef stew, chicken and wild rice soup, hot cocoa , chai latte (a little) and cappuccino. The chocolate pudding was fine, too. I haven't tried the other puddings or oatmeals yet and I haven't tried the strawberry or banana shakes, either. I think I will make a trade soon so I won't have to be tempted to stray once I only have products I don't like.

I was hoping to enjoy the bars since they are really convenient, but I've tried 3 of the 4 that came with my 4 week kit and the oatmeal raisin was the only one I might think about trying again.

I'm hoping my tastes change because I'm here for the long haul and I can imagine wanting more variety than what I've named so far.

Thanks everyone for the welcome and happy losing!

Give yourself a chance to get used to the food. Some of the stuff that I hated at the beginning is now my favorite. Most of us find that our tastse change. :bib:
