Thanks Patty, Biki, and T. Biki, I always have a huge smile in the pictures I take. I remember taking my senior portraits all those years ago and the photographer had to tell me not to smile so much. Something about a camera makes me wanna show my teeth :)

And I'm not sure how many people actually carry 250 well, but most people I knew had no idea I weighed 250. In the pic from Christmas, I was around 250 (can't remember exact weight) and that was an XL sweater from the misses dept and 18w jeans. In the March pic, I was around 255 and the shirt/sweater were 18/20 from Lane Bryant and the capris I had on were a size 20 from LB.

Queenie I am so happy for you - with your progress on MF and your progress with the couch to 5K. You also should be proud of your yourself. Your pictures show off your personality - very bubbly. What a difference just a couple of months make - huh?!? You go girl!!

Trying to catch up with you, hol! :)

Thanks again everyone for all the nice things you said about the pics. Laura, that is probably less than a third of my first cousins in the picture. I have a huge family. My dad has 16 brothers and sisters and my mom has 6 brothers and sisters. But you're right, I am very blessed :)

I joined Curves today. I thought about just trying to do some tapes on my own but I realize that I have never done that consistently before so I might as well stick with what is working. I love knowing that I go there and do 30 minutes and I'm done. But I'm also finding myself wanting to exercise more and more. I'll have to see if my weight loss slows because I'm adding extra workouts throughout the week. If the weight loss slows, I will add an additional shake. It just feels so good to be active to quit.

I went into a bike shop today and was quickly reminded why I haven't bought a bike yet. They are expensive. Plus, I don't know what kind to get.

Anybody doing/done Power 90? I was thinking of adding it in somehow. After this 100 days of medifast ticker expires, I need another medium range goal and I thought committing to Power 90 would suffice. I probably have to rethink that since I just joined Curves. I might change my Curves membership to a 3 month student one, though. It's cheaper but you can't get a travel pass.

Hope everyone has a happy holiday!

I did Power 90 for about 4 months last year. I don't believe that it is a workout I could do while on MF, it was pretty strenuous. But then again, I'm as old as dirt and you're just a young thing ;) so your mileage may vary. :D

Thanks, T! I did power 90 while doing Atkins a couple of years ago and I remember feeling smaller but not losing much weight. I think I'll just stick with Curves and the jogging. No need to mess up a good thing.

I have a Curves about a mile away (across from the beauty supply.) So it would be convenient and I would have the added exercise of walking there and back. The only reservation I have is that I join gyms and don't go. I am sure my husband would find out and go ballistic after all the money I wasted on gym memberships and personal trainers and just didin't show up and the gym was a block away!

You might check to see if the Curves by you is offering any kind of promotion. They also have a thing where if you know someone who works out there they can get a month free for you. The fee was pretty reasonable - $39 a month. As a student I could have gotten 3 months for $99 but you can't get travel passes with that one. The cancellation penalties are not nearly as steep as other gyms either. You won't have to pay more than $50 to cancel if you do so before your 12 months are up. At least that is what I was told yesterday.

Glad you stopped by to see it, hol! I was thinking about you and how nice your pool must be. Of course, I can't swim, but sometimes I think about getting in a pool :)

I promised myself that I would learn to swim before I leave Wisconsin. I think they offer classes at the gym on campus, so I should sign up in the fall. We'll see. Enjoy your day!

You are probably too new to have heard me whine about this, but I only have two friends and one is a man and they both live rather far away in Virginia. I may go and check it out or call them and see what the fees are. In terms of having new friends, in September I start my Catholic classes and before then I think I will start volunteering in the community to expand my acquaintance list. I was just reading about volunteer opportunities in the Hill Rag (a local paper) earlier today. The only thing that keeps me from making a committment to a volunteer duty is I still have my off days and would hate having to cancel and flake out. Of course all of you count as friends but can't join me at Starbucks for a chat.

I want to exercise too much. Strange. I have to tell myself that I cannot work out twice a day. That a 30 minute jog is enough exercise for me on this plan. Yesterday I went to Curves and then last night I did the Shape calorie blasting walk. I think that I am all excited about being physically fit and I want to do too much. I'm going to start entering my food on mymedifast again so I can see how few calories I'm actually eating and why it makes no sense to exercise more than what I had been doing. I haven't even been taking Sundays off for the last 2 weeks. Plus, I'm not drinking enough water when I exercise.

So for now I have to try to stick to 30 minutes a day, 6 days a week.
