Pudding (runny)

Postby Shellster » December 2nd, 2005, 9:32 am

Hi everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for my runny pudding for some reason my pudding comes out runny, most of the time. I make it like the directions say but it still comes out runny, I don't like runny pudding and my husband won't eat it either. :aarggh

Has anyone else had this problem?? Please let me know. Thanks

Hi, Shellster ~

That sounds icky to me, too. Here's what I do:

I put a skosh over three ounces but slightly under four ounces of icy cold water in a small bowl and slowy sprinkle the puddin' powder into the water and stir like cwazy. It gets thick and smooth and then I put it in the freezer for 5-10 minutes.

We have a Blender Bottle™ (see the picture of it in The Studio) and if I am feeling lazy, I put the cold water into my Take Shape Fast Shake shaker jar, add the pudding mix and the little stainless steel ball from Blender Bottle™ and shake it up. The only problem with that is that my tongue got stuck licking the Blender Ball! I want every ounce and lick of my Medi-puddin’. It comes out smooth and thick.

I personally think the Bananner Cream Puddin’ thickens up a bit better than the chocolate.

BK mixes her pudding directly in her shaker jar like a shake – just be sure to carefully measure the amount of water you use. I know I messed up a few times because I was in “Autom-a-ton Mode” just automatically filled my jar with 8 ounces of water like I would do for a shake and had the runniest pudding ever!

Best wishes to you as you mix that puddin'!

Thank you Nancy, I really appreciate it.

I actually bought 4 of those blender bottles after seeing your post. I got them yesterday and that is what I used it for, I made our pudding and it came out really smooth and I love that blender bottle. I don't know why it came out so runny. I will try and use less water. I think I only used 4 oz. but you never know, sometimes I think I do something and by habit I might have used too much.

Thanks again :D

Hi Nancy,

Thanks for inquiring, I have not tried it yet, I had pudding yesterday but I made the lemon one, I love that pudding too, I am going to try it with less water like you suggested, probably tomorrow, then I will let you know how it came out (i'm sure it will be better) thanks again,

Hi all,

Well Nancy I made pudding today and it came out just fine. I think I probably had one of those brain farts and made it with too much water (probably 8 oz) It was much better today.

Thanks so much

Hi Lisa,

Yes there is a recipe on here for lemon pudding. I think if you do a search you will find it. If you can't I will find my recipe and give it to you.
It's very good.

Oh, I am so glad it turned out properly, Shellster! Runny pudding is not happy!

P.S. Thanks, Dear Unca for putting in the link to the Lemon Puddin' ----methinks it's because you are a Lemon Bar, Lemon Pie fan, eh? I'll make you the latter for Christmas because you are such a sweetie!

Thank you Unca, I have been looking for that recipe, I make it so much I know it by heart.

Yes Nancy, runny pudding is kinda gross, it was nice to have the proper consistency. My chocolate and bananer pudding was much better last night (oh by the way I only ate one) lol
