Psst..it's that GIRL who....

Postby katana » January 10th, 2008, 9:08 pm

Hi Folks
It's been a long time since I've posted...but...I still love to read about everyone's successes!!!

Well..I've been a little embarrassed to post  ...because it seems that every time I try Medifast... I GAIN weight... and my super overactive imagination starts "flashback-ing" to high school... to those days when I was "under construction" (braces, glasses...you know the story, right?) and wasn't always invited to sit amongst the beautiful, elite, ever so popular crowd... and I figured if I posted that I gained... the chat room would grow quiet..and someone would whisper..."There's that girl... you know...the one who... GAINED! " But like I said, waaaay too active of an imagination. :D (BY the WAY...at the last high school reunion....many of the beautiful, elite girls...had evidently used up all their glamour and grandeur by grade 12... fortunately, I saved SOME (not much, but SOME) for middle age ;) ... but since then...I've put on a little middle age weight (yeah...I'll go with that...middle age weight...certainly couldn't be because of poor eating habits and a few Nesquick Chocolate Milks!)

I follow the plan exactly (plus lots of water, lean and green) for the first few weeks..and usually by week two, I'm up about four pounds. (I have about twenty pounds to lose...I lost the majority about six years ago..doing the carb control thing...but have put a little more than twenty back on..I'm not tall, so the pounds are very noticeable)

I even tried the Full Fast (drinking only the shakes) and that didn't work either. (I have no problem just drinking the shakes and the meals are so simple and easy to fix...and I like the taste). I am not a big eater...and haven't cooked since 1988 (at my family's request...I do NOT think the spaghetti was crunchy or the chicken tasted like soap, and the taco fire...who KNEW you shouldn't cook taco's in a toaster oven? And with a few coats of paint..the kitchen cabinets were as good as new.) :idontknow:

At any rate...each time I come to the site...I am soooo motivated, and I order my shipment...try again...and...there they are...the extra pounds.
What can I do?? Are there just people who, for some reason, can't lose? We have a HiEnergy weight loss center here...I've been told they are Medifast... but do I need to actually go to a center instead of ordering online like most folks do? Would going to the center improve the results??
I figure, with the vast wealth of knowledge, experience and motivation here, perhaps I don't need to attend. But then again...I'm..."the girl who GAINED", so maybe I do need the structure.
Do any of you actually go to a Medifast center instead of doing this on your own? I'd like to hear your opinions, if you have!
So...once more...I'm motivated...and willing to try again...
there aren't many diets that... when you GOOGLE "results" have as many five star ratings as Medifast, you know!

Thanks so much to all of you!

PS - The ticker at the bottom...well..that's from my first posting days...it's no longer even in that vicinity!

The only thing I can say is that maybe you aren't giving Medifast enough time. It seems you try for a week or two and don't see the results you want and quit. Why not commit to a month and see what the end result is. A month isn't a lifetime and if you haven't lost a pound in a month you'll know that Medifast isn't for you.

I gained weight during my weight loss. Almost everyone does. I just stuck with it and didn't worry about it as long as I was being compliant with the Medifast program.

I don't think the Medifast centers are necessarily the answer unless you need guidance with your lean & green. A free health advisor can do the same thing. You could call the number at the top of the forum and get hooked up with one.

Thanks for the advice! I will try again...
The four times that I've tried...I've given it more than two weeks...it's just at the two weeks mark where I start noticing the gain...I have gone as long as two months...and gained 8 lbs..so I stopped. Tried again...up about four pounds... Thought I must be doing something terribly wrong...but that wasn't the case.
I'll give it another try...with a counselor as you suggested.

Thanks,

Welcome! I have no words of wisdom to offer you. My only suggestion would be to call the MF dietician(s) if you have a gain this time. Keep an accurate food journal (times/amounts, etc) to share with them or your health advisor and go from there.

Best of luck that you won't have a gain this time.

Be sure...I mean really sure you drink plenty of water...
