Processed Turkey/Chicken?

Postby D-M-W » March 7th, 2006, 4:19 pm

I don't really know what these are called, but they are basically "rolls" of turkey or chicken. They pretty much remind me of the giant deli rolls that they use in the grocery...except they are smaller. Ham comes this way as well.

Anyway, is this something that is acceptable? I assume that it is basically the same thing sa packaged turkey, but slicing it from this would be much better (and thicker).

I bought some turkey cutlets today and they were wonderful...but they were really expensive. This would be a much cheaper route.

So, can I eat this?

Wasn't there nutrition info on the package? I'd just check it against regular turkey and see how it compares. A lot of times they add fat and salt (or they mix dark and white meat, which increases the fat content) but I would think it would vary by brand.
