1 pound is better than zero pound

Postby Nite Izes » April 15th, 2004, 7:18 am

This week the weight loss might only be 1 lb. But to me 1 lb. is better than zero pounds. Maybe next week it will be more or the same. I am not letting this get me down. I am happy that I have lost 1 lb. Can you tell??

I know there will come a time that I might hit a plateau. And know that plateau will not last forever and when that phase ends, I can continue on my weight loss journey. As long as the clock ticks, we have time to continue.

I am trying to stay positive about this.

I think one of the hardest things about weight loss is the time that it takes. One pound sounds so lame....but it gets easier once you can look back and add some of those ones, twos and threes together. Just make a commitment for a few weeks and stick with it even when you're not motivated. You CAN do this!!

Drink lots of water and stay strong - you can see from the others on this site that it really does make a difference. You owe it to yourself to give this a chance to work! :cleader:

Oh Tonya, don't get me wrong and please do not think 1 pound sounds lame. I think it is great for me. I have made a commitment prior to starting the program and due to my medical condition this is still a positive moment for me.

I drink over 64 oz of water a day and being a former Medifast client (1990), I know it will work for me. I do not think you know my history. Here is my detailed story

http://www.makemethinner.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=756

I know Medifast will help me get back to where I was prior to my medical condition causing my disability. My committment will be for at least 1- 2 years, this has already been discussed with my MD. Due to my health, I cannot be on a complete Medifast liquid program. So my weight loss will vary. All that matters is that I am on the losing side.

I have not once stopped being self motivated or look at it as a negativity. I am happy to lose 1 pound and will continue to feel happy about it. It took a lot of effort on my part to have lose a total of 14 pounds so far in 3 weeks.

rejoice

Nite,

You are an inspiration to me. Even with your difficulties you are hanging tough and going forward. You will do great. You can get that from all your posts. They are so positive.

Glad your on this forum. I also did Medifast in 1990 and it worked for me, but I was 25 then and figured I didn't need transition and maintenance and now I'm back doing Medifast in 2004. But this time I have a different attitude. I am retraining my "fat-brain" this time.

Keep shaking!

Hugs,
Susan

I read your "description" post and what a story! I am so excited for you though that you have decided to try Medifast before surgery. I have a friend that had it and it makes me sad for her....especially with the limitations it puts on you long-term. I was, however, also very proud of her for taking such dramatic action to gain the life she wanted!

I was also inspired to hear that Medifast worked for you....and you were able to keep it off. You don't usually hear as much about the "after" unless it's someone that has gained the weight back.

So, you know it will work for you and congratulations for having the courage to start again! I wish you all the best!
