I think what kills me the most about the Medifast thing is the time - I know I can handle not eating, and can (mostly) drink the required water amount. I just want the time to go faster. Time=boredom which is a never a good thing when you're on a diet. How about you folks?

I found that when I first started, time was an issue for me, and I would take naps if it got to be unbearable, or I would read. Now that I am used to it, I have no problem.

I work 72 hours a week (3-24hour shifts), and am full time+ at school, so my problem now is getting them on time.

Alos, I read posts when I was first starting. It helped alot, and there are tons of hournal entries to read. Good luck.

When I started I found that making myself stuff to do helped a lot! Clean out the closets, work on projects, whatever to keep yourself busy. One REALLY bad night I colored my hair, polished my toenails and then bleached my teeth. You can't eat when doing that! LOL Sometimes you've gotta do whatever to get throught to the next meal! Hang in there! You CAN do it!

My days are full and busy, so they pass pretty quickly, tho Days 1 & 2 drug along. Days in the week seem to be going slowly... I thought maybe it was just cuz it's my first week and I am determined not to weigh in til Sunday!!

Funny you should post about this. I was just thinking about that. It really reminds me of when I gave up smoking 6 years ago. That used to take up a lot of time, especially since I often had to stop what I was doing and go outside or somewhere where it was legal and wouldn't bother other folks. At home I'd take cig breaks, and just relax with a cup of coffee and smoke. When I quit, I had all this time on my hands! I love to cook and used to spend a lot of time researching recipes, shopping for ingredients, planning the meals, and of course the actual preparation and cooking. All done for now! I was amazed at how much time that leaves me. So it's a big adjustment.

Heh, thanks for the advice :)

And that song runs through my head whenever I feel like I've got nothing to do - of course, there's always a chore to do but I hate doing chores so I procrastinate like nobody's business.

I quit smoking for a few months and then went back to it just because I kept eating all the time - I figured I'd deal with my weight first and then quit smoking. Which means by the time I quit smoking, I already know how to deal with eating issues and not gain 20lbs in one month.

Cyberghost, thats what I did, I quit smoking just over 2 years ago and then I decided it was time to take the healthy to the next level and loose some weight. I also think that Ginabobina did that too. She will have quit for 1 year tomorrow. Take it one addiction at a time.
