plateau

Postby urs9999 » June 23rd, 2006, 6:17 am

Hi, I started MF on 4/18 and have lost 30lbs. For the past 2 1/2 weeks I have lost nothing. I have tried everything to get past it, more water, no exercise, more exercise, no bars, bars everyother day, full fast, all shakes etc. I am having no luck. Is there anything else I can do to get past this and typically how long do plateaus last? I am getting very discouraged. Thanks!

I can understand your frustration. My $.02 - Try hiding the scale for 4 weeks and just keep doing what was making you successful.

I know easier said than done. But you are off to a great start!

Have some pizza. Extra olive oil.

It worked for me!

Plateaus are frustrating but you're still so new to the plan that I wouldn't try anything drastic. You're body is adjusting and trying to figure out what's going on. Just keep following the plan to the letter. You WILL lose ~ I guarantee it!

WELCOME, Michelle!!!

Glad to see that you've come back to MF. The best advice that I have is to follow the program to the T. No shifting things around or tweaking. Once your body gets adjusted, it's pretty easy. Feel free to ask any specific questions and many folks will jump right in.

to the both of you!

Yep...sticking with the plan to a T will most definitely work. Even if your body is hanging on to every little ounce of fat it can (I hate when that happens)...it will eventually have to let it go and you'll be back on that downward slope before you know it! ;)

HANG TOUGH! :D

It may sound weird, but adding a shake might help. It helped me during my first plateau!

I had a really long plateau as well. I was drinkin gatorade because I spend a lot of time outside, and it is really hot here. I don't particularly like gatorade, but I know that it quenches the kind of thirst I was having, that water just does not quench. Anyway, I found that Gatorade was REALLY high in carbs. When I cut out the Gatorade, I started losing again. Maybe if you post EXACTLY everything you consume in an average day, and the times you have it, that might help someone see something that you are missing. I don't know---just a thought. I KNOW how frustrating it is!!! Good Luck!!

Hey! I was serious about the pizza!

It helped re-jumpstart my metabolism again. Can anyone else tell me they have not lost briefly AFTER cheating?
