pickles

Postby stacie4 » May 10th, 2007, 5:43 pm

This is weird, the center I go to and it has actual doctors, dieticians and RN there say it is ok to eat all the pickles I want, drink boullion and use salt on alot of stuff. I have been eating like 3-4 pickles, the whole ones too not spears, a day. I also drink more than the recommeded amount of water. But so far I have been on it and lost 8 pounds since April 30, so unless it starts to taper off, I will keep doing it. Everyone seems to disagree though, which it seems we all get different info from all different sources.

Stacie,

We always want to respect our physicians and other health care professionals. Typically, the information that you read on this forum is going to be based on the Quick Start Guide that Medifast makes (you should have received it in your order. It has a list of allowed snacks (1 per day) and on that list is 2 pickle spears.

We do lose alot of sodium, potassium, and other electrolytes from the water we drink each day. Most of that is replenished in the Medifast meals and our Lean and Green. Some days we get more, some less. When we feel a little light headed or get leg cramps, we need to have some boullion or a fast soup, or dill pickles, or something else with sodium or potassium.

Its a great plan. I would say, if your doctor tells you specifically that something is okay, then follow their guidelines.

Hope this helps ease your mind. Have a wonderful rest of the day.
