I received an e-mail from Bell Plantation yesterday announcing their Holiday Promotion. The way I read it, the PB2 is on sale at a pretty good price. Here is some info from the e-mail I received (looking at the site, its available to anyone):

we are offering you a special holiday purchase price of $2.99 per jar or 4 jars of PB2 for only $11.96 plus shipping. Hurry, this limited offer expires December 13th

We want you to try our Extra Virgin Roasted Peanut Oil

We’ve changed the bottle, increased the volume of oil 50% and significantly reduced the cost! In the past, each bottle held 8.5 fluid ounces and the new bottle holds 12.3 fluid ounces. The cost of the twin pack of oil has been lowered from $11.98 per twin pack to $6.89 per twin pack plus shipping.

NOW FOR THE SUPER TERRIFIC NEWS!

You can purchase a 4 pack of PB2 plus a twin pack of Bell Plantation’s exquisite, and aromatic roasted peanut oil for $17.95 plus shipping!! This is an amazing deal!

Just an update.... the sale on the PB2 is over on Thursday Dec 13. I just ordered some to share for Christmas with family and friends. Its basically $2.99 a jar plus shipping.
The peanut oil is also on sale, but I checked, although peanut oil is a pretty healthy oil to cook with.... its best for cooking at high temp, and we don't cook high temp... just medium, so I will stick with olive oil or Pam.

They have 4 packs for $11.96 and 10-packs for $29.90.

Also, in my last update, they had a recipe for a PB pie that I think could be adapted for Medifast. This is not 5&1 approved, but could be modified for the 5&1.

Peanut Butter Pie
8 servings

1 Keebler Ready Crust, Graham, Reduced-Fat (a serving is 1/8 of the pie, 100 calories, 3.5 fat grams, less that 1 gram fiber)[Medifast alternate - use whole grain crackers crunched up, or perhaps mix with some Apple/Cinn oatmeal or soy crisps crumbled]
1 cup of PB2
8 oz fat free Philadelphia cream cheese[Medifast alternate - Medifast pudding - you choose the flavor]
1 12 oz Fat Free Cool Whip
1/8 cup Splenda
Mix the ingredients and pour in pie crust. Put in refrigerator to chill.

I placed my order for another 8 jars -- I still have 4 unopened from my last order of 8. I primarily use it when I have a chocolate MF bar. I mix up the 2 Tbs, spread it on the bar and enjoy a chocolate peanut butter indulgence. It is good stuff and the price is great. :)

So essentially you are adding to your diet the calories of half a supplement each time you do this, right? That doesn't sound like the actions of a person trying to hit goal in 20 days. It hurt me to type that. Sorry.

I use it as an occasional snack and if that snack helps me stay out of the cookies and ice cream...........those calories are a very small drop in the bucket. The PB2 is a taste bud treat and yesterday when I was struggling to avoid the sweets---it felt like a 'treat'. 54 calories to curb the cookie monster is a very small price to pay in my mind.

I do appreciate your input, you did bring up a good point about the calories being equal to 1/2 of a supplement, but at this point, I am very willing to have those calories even if it means that I do not hit goal in 20 days......

I had no idea you were struggling so with the sweets. It is definitely better to eat the stuff. I also didn't know you did it occasionally-you could be having a bar every day and doing it. I'm was just sharing my experience. I was such a turtle hitting goal and that was while never having snacks, except an occasional pickle when my legs ached.
