Hi everyone -

I am Patty - nice to meet you all. I am setting up my journal today, Monday, 6/11/07 because I am starting my Medifast program tomorrow, Tuesday, 6/12/07. This is the first time ever and I will make it work! I have been lurking for almost a week and am so glad to have found this forum. I am very excited and nervous too I have done my share of programs and even many that I "planned on starting" but never did. I even ordered food for the program and will use it up and then order a fresh batch. Kind of embarrassed about the whole thing but as I said I feel so excitied and hopeful and really feeling psoitive - almost renewed – today especially – because I have spent quite a bit of time reading the journals here and “getting to know you all”…what a great group!

In a nutshell - I am 45 (46 in Oct) and have a almost 6 yr old daughter. I have been married almost 4 yrs though was married previously for 16 yrs/no children. I am originally from the midwest though have relocated to the northeast for the last 7 yrs.

I have struggled with my weight mainly the last 6-7 yrs - but really since my daughter was born - always been very curvy and hourglass shaped but have struggled with poor eating habits and some depression lately and my weight is getting out of control. So it is time for me to take care of myself and be a good role model for my daughter at the same time.

Enough about me - I have enjoyed reading many journals here and look forward to chatting with you all very soon.

Thanks for stopping by :D

Oh, Goody, PATTY!
You are getting off on the right foot by starting your journal early.
That will help keep you motivated and commited to getting your health and fitness back on track.
Other things like posting your 'before" and 'during' pictures will help,
and I always love to see a picture avatar so I can see who is posting, etc.
Lots of great role models here to steer you on your way to thinsville city.
Congratulations! PATTY. So happy you're here.

Hi Patty,

Welcome...There is much wisdom and encouragement on this board.

Isn't is amazing how destructive our weight can be to our health and our emotional state, but the Blessing is that we all meet and encourage one another.

I sent you a pm.
God Bless,
Laura

Glad you have made the decision to join us Patty. Ask away with the questions. You will get an answer. Remember, we were all beginers once. All of us had questions (still do). !!!

Welcome, Patty!
I'm glad that you began a journal right from the start, and I think you'll be glad for it too.
Post as many questions as you have, girl...that's what is great about this forum ~ almost no question goes unanswered.
It may not always be what you want to hear ;), but you will almost always receive a response!

Thank you all so much...Well I barely made it through my first day but I know what I need to do. I tend to eat too little when I get into this frame of mind so I will use a bar every day until it seems to effect my weight loss. I know about the 1 bar a day rule and that is fine but for some reason - maybe related to ketosis? - I get very hungry mid moring and then about mid-day to late afternoon, I lose my hunger, and then stop eating and I do know that not eating enough is as bad as eating too much :x

So on to a new day !

Have a great one everyone!!!

Patty, you are exactly right. I would have to say that virtually EVERY TIME I have eaten off program it was from skipping supplements, usually intentionally. I'll be honest and say a few times it seemed like skipping supplements did help me lose weight. But perhaps I would have lost more if I would have been compliant. But it is a game of Russian roulette. The hunger rears it's ugly head eventually.

I have had the same experience as Biki has and also another tripping spot for me that will trigger cravings and hunger is if I don't drink all my water. For some reason that makes a huge difference in how my day goes in regards to hunger. Even though I know this........I still have many days that getting the minimum 64 oz. does not happen.

Hi everyone -

Doing OK - wish I felt better but I realize it takes time. I am trying to figure out my supplements for the day with work and I also wanted to ask one thing and not sure where to post it ---

Would anyone be interested in posting on a daily thread for all of us to stop by and say Hi? I know that we all use the journals for that but I am always afraid I will miss so important info! Sounds silly I know - I just sometimes feel like I need a lot of support!

Just a thought :)

Hope you are all doing well...I really enjoy everything everyone has to offer...
