Oh the Burger King thing is a double stacker, NO sauce, NO bun, a salad instead of fries with 1/2 the packet of light italian they give you (yes that is an option at BK in their meals, no extra charge!) and a diet Coke.

I don't recommend it though because I guess I have very good self-control and I have no trouble eating JUST what I said and nothing else. I never was an over-eater, I gained my weight from 2 pregnancies back to back.

Others might find it too hard to avoid the temptations. I don't mean to tempt anyone, I just want to post what I am doing because I am being honest.

I have had those burger king meals 4 times so far, once was 2 days in a row cause I had no time to do otherwise, then one a week later and now the last one. Each time I lost weight (a half a pound) the next day so I'm a little surprised. I am taking an educated guess as to what causes it.

It can't be the calories because my calories were the same as every other day on Medifast just eating other L&G meals (~1000 calories). The difference was the fat by a small amount. My daily intake was 36% instead of the usual 20-30%. I guess that got things moving.

Pashta~ Every time I drive by Burger King now......I think of you. ;) I agree some people may not be as self-controlled as you when it comes to eating there. I would do fine, as long as DH or someone was with me, but if I were alone......I'm not too confident that I would be as strong as you.

Hey 1.6# isn't bad!!! That's exactly what I lost this week. ;)

Keep shakin, girl.

I don't think I want to try to handle Burger King yet. There isn't one that close by but I used to work near one and it was right next door to the Starbucks, so I was outside there often. Except for a few younger guys, almost all the clientele in the windows was obese. Danger Will Robinson danger! I can't imagine that they are using the leanest beef either, though I could be wrong. The one time I went in there after work, they put half a jar of mayo on my burger so I was turned off. I realize you don't get the mayo.

Yeah, it's the best burger place for L&G because they do flame broil their burgers and a lot of the fat actually drips off. I checked the calories and fat and protein at the other places, it's the only place I could get away with it.

That meal I eat is close enough to be considered legal.

Calories: 390 (350 is fine per nutrition support)
Fat: 30g (30% of calories from fat per day is fine per NS, this day I was only at 36%)
Carbs: 2g (should be less than 5g carbs for Lean portion)
Protein: 29g (should be more than 35g)

See how close? It works so I'll take it on occasion, especially since I didn't have a snack when I had it. :)

One time I got a burger there when I was pregnant and they put a ton of mayo on it, grossed me out, I had to wipe it off. Thereafter I asked for LIGHT MAYO hehe.

Pashta, Where did you get the calorie content of the hamburger separate from the bun, etc?

I imagine from the BK website, but I am sure she will let us know.

Oh, I see. I looked it up. Neat website, btw. The double stacker is over 66% fat. That definately would not qualify as lean beef. The chicken on the chicken sandwich is only 23% fat, but it's loaded with salt......sooooooo, personally, I would avoid BK while on program.

Yep, the BK website lets you take off the bun and sauce and whatever else you want to.

As I said before Jo, we are ALLOWED 30% of our daily calories to be from fat and what I ate that day INCLUDING the BK was 36% total. The program has changed... They realized that we NEED fat to protect our gall bladders, absorb nutrients and keep our hair from falling out. Low-fat diets NEVER worked. The doctors were wrong and everybody is changing away from low-fat if you haven't noticed. Moderation is key to everything.

223.8 still. Oh well... for the last couple of weeks my Monday weigh-in was matching my Sunday weigh-in. :(

I was hoping for a little bit more of a weekly loss but that's ok! I DID lose 1 inch total last week, I'd better not complain. ;)

I am so low on food.. I finally decided to just go ahead and put some more Medifast on a credit card. *sigh* Just adding to the darn things, I hate using credit cards, it's just making somebody else rich.

I used the special that expires today to get a week free from Medifast, so I have 5 more weeks coming in the mail! That will guarantee me a 7.5# loss but I sure hope for more.

I'm SOO close to fitting into 16's, I can get a couple pairs on but can't button them. I'm sure I will be able to comfortably by the time I run out of this food order! :yay:

The idea is that we add heart-healthy fats not cholesterol.

I am starting to take offense here. Let me make one thing clear:

7 oz shrimp (LEGAL LEAN): 387 mg cholesterol

BK double stacker no bun no sauce: 120 mg cholesterol

If you don't want to eat what I have on occasion then please don't, I'm not advocating it, but I have lost weight the next day every time I had it and nobody is going to tell me not to have it if it works. It's not an everyday thing, only occasionally when sometimes I don't have time due to my extremly busy life.

So let's stop discussing this please. Thanks. :)
