Thank you for the heads up on the new Quick Start Guide. I printed off some of the pages.

Mary, your smiley central gal with the tape measure is too cute!! I've been hesitant to download smiley central to my computer because in years past I had read that the program was spyware and caused big problems within people's computers (and was heck to try to uninstall)..but I guess that isn't the case any longer---I'm still leary of it though and am so tempted every time I see cute .gifs such as the one you just used. :D

Oooh... it IS spyware, don't do it! My mother in law downloaded it and it put so much junk on her computer I had to go over there and fix it.

Pashta~ Ditto to what Mary said. I think you are a fantastic asset around here. I love the fact that you work hard to be well-informed and I find it very helpful. Thank you for taking the time to do the research and for sharing your findings with us. :yourock:

ARGH! I haven't lost anything in the past four days! :x :brickwall:

I can't help but be active though! It was so beautiful yesterday we had to go walk around in the park... so that's me walking a lot every day for the past few days, not to mention the cleaning and changing diapers and running around.

I gave up today on trying not to exercise since I'm doing it anyway. I am sick of the flab on my belly so I started with the pilates again. Boy, I am gonna be sore tomorrow lol..

Eventually I will get a day with no exercise in it and I will lose, right? I am totally in ketosis cause the stix are pink! I'm not going to add any more calories in fear of screwing myself up though. I'll just wait and be patient. Soon I'll drop a pound or two in a couple days time, I know it!

Yesterday I didn't exercise and lost weight. But as Lauren just pointed out, our bodies just don't respond that quickly to changes in our routine. That's where the patience comes in. I lost 2 pounds overnight without exercise. But the other 56 pounds I have lost have been with walking at least a mile a day even in the snow, ice and freezing temperatures, often at 5:30 am. So I wouldn't say exercise is the culprit.

Yeah, the only time that you may show no loss or a gain the following day after exercise is if you do a significant lifting routine - as weight lifting usually leads your body to retain water to protect the muscles from the work you just did on them. But other than that, there isn't generally an immediate response in the body to cardio, for instance.

Don't get down, Pashta, you're doing great, just keep on chugging and your big losses will come!

Thanks for sharing the pictures, Pashta. Even though you spark my baby fever. Maybe that's a good thing - no baby if I'm not compliant - might keep me steady on the path!

I always retain water when I exercise. I did the plan last year and the same thing happened. I have a lot of muscles though and build them very quickly... maybe it's just me. :)
