Parmesan cheese?

Postby onehotmommy » January 13th, 2006, 9:59 pm

Is Parmesan cheese allowed? I like to sprinkle it on steamed veggies....not very much at all and certainly not even the 2 tsp or maybe TBS of it that has only 20 calories ;) I think it said 0 carbs and 2 on protein....what do ya think?

:D

Sorry, but no parm. cheese for now.

Little adjustments to the program when added up, become some other program and not Medifast anymore. If it's not in the Quickstart Guide, it doesn't go in my mouth.

Are you sure about this? I've been told that reduced fat parmesan cheese is fine in moderation.

Well, I go by the Quick Start Guide. Parm cheese is not a low fat cheese, so I don't eat it. Keeping it simple is my main objective. I believe when we branch out too much it can lead to a slippery slope. But if you've got approval from a Medifast nutritionist and not just the person that answers the phone there, then by all means go for it.

Maybe Nancy will set us straight.

While I agree with you to an extent, I really dislike the Quick Start guide. I am someone who pays close attention to details, and they have a lot of things in the book that can be misconstrued. I use the book as a guide, but I also ask the nutritionists a lot of questions.

Keep in mind though, I'm not a hardliner like a lot of people on here. I do some things that don't fit directly on the plan...because they work for me.

Manly,

Hardliner is such a cold prickley word. I just like to keep things simple. That's what works for me.

And while you pay close attention to detail, many do not and can get into real trouble by not keeping it simple.

Yes, this information comes from a MF nutritionist.
