7 ozs of chicken

Postby Huntersmom » February 22nd, 2006, 5:57 pm

Does anyone else have a problem with trying to eat 7 ozs? I eat it but let me tell you~it is too much. This program is amazing. It has really taught me that I just consume way too much food. And I finally kicked my regular coca-cola habit. I do have a coke zero every now and then when I need a fix. I am thinking good thoughts about everyone and their weight loss.

It really is a lot of chicken. I usually have something not as feeling as a replacement before my lean and green if I am planning on having chicken. It is important to get all of the lean and green meal to keep the proper balance. You are doing just great with this so keep up the great work!

Yes, there have been a few times when I've struggled to get ALL the chicken down . . . especially if it's at all dry. Some things that have helped:

- Make sure it's not dry
- Eat slowly (by which I mean, REALLY slowly, sometimes it takes me 30 minutes or more just to finish the chicken)
- Cut it into strips or chunks and mix with the vegetables or salad

Probably the one that has helped me the most is the slow eating. If I stretch it out, I don't get that stuffed feeling that makes it so hard to finish.

Good luck, and happy shaking! :D

I must be an exception because I don't have any problem eating 7 oz. of chicken, but then I've always been a high volumn eater. I grill my chicken breasts on an indoor grill and they come out very tender and juicy, so it's very tasty and easy to get down.

Wow, I'm with Patti! as I was reading the first posts, I was thinking that maybe my stomach is like a "bottomless pit" or something, lol.

But that is grrrreat that people are becoming more aware of portion sizes and uneccessary additions.

Keep up the good work and keep on shakin'!

Ha! Yeah, I'm with Patti and Striving here...I rarely feel so full I don't think I can keep eating! I have always felt that my stomach was a bottomless pit, which is why I knew I had a problem. There isn't an "off" switch on most occassions, and I would know to stop eating when out with people by watching what they were eating and when they stopped.

Hats off to all you folks who actually have a stomach with a brain - mine is much less evolved! :-)

Funny, 7 ozs of chicken is hard to eat for me  but it's VERY hard for me to stop at the 5 ozs of pork :? I love pork  I could probably eat a lot more than 7 ozs of some foods we are trying to forget about

Good Morning everyone!

I saw a thread saying women can consume 4-5 ounces of lean meat. I also read somewhere (and you guys have been talking about it) that we can eat 7 ounces of chicken. I can't find on this web the current lean green directions. Will someone point me to the correct direction?
Thanks so much!

Hi Triskets,

You should find it in your Quick Start Guide that comes with your order of products. You can have 7 oz. of chicken, turkey or fish -or- 5 oz. lean beef, pork or lamb.

Thanks Patti! :D

7 ounces of chicky is a lot - more than one chicken breast. I couldn't remember the ounce limits on lean beef (I was craving some lean hamburger). So I ate 3 oounces of cooked and it was plenty. Guess I could have had that whole patty instead of giving some of it to the dog! LOL
Are the ounces listed cooked or uncooked?

Tanks!

Triskets,

Bet your dog was a happy camper! I used to give my doggie a bite or two of whatever I was eating in the past.....but now, no way! But, I do cook a little extra every once in a while just for him.

You weigh your meat "after it is cooked".

Thanks Patti
I used to overfill my plate because our older German Shepherd became accustomed to eating my leftovers. When we went out to eat and I'd come home with the styrafoam box he knew the food was for him.
Now that we have a GS puppy, we're trying to not get into those same habits with her.
Have a swell day!

GS like leftovers and know what the white box means? :) I have one and he is always looking for left overs. He has made best friends with my toddler.

7 oz does look like a lot on a plate, so does the 1.5 cups of veggies next to it. I usually find that I satisifed after eatting it, not the stuffed to the brim feeling though.
