Well I'm not much for Magic Mountain either..........so maybe we'll just leave Terry there, and us girls can go and paint the town while he's hangin upside down on Superman!
If you don't need "luxurious" accom. Nancy, there are a couple of nice motels I know of here that are inexpensive. Nothing fancy, but they are clean and safe. When your trip gets closer let me know and I'll get brochures and send them to you so you can choose.

When I've lost the weight, I want to go horse back riding. Did you know they have "Weight limits" on them now? I'm not over the limit, but how mortifying would it be to show up and have them stick me on the scale just to prove it.

Both my daughters love horses, so I can't wait until I can take them on a ride.

(Yeah, I know, not exactly a roller coaster, but considering the first time I rode a horse 'solo' it took off with me down the meadow, it was pretty thrilling ;)

Yes! :shock: How mortifying is that?

When we were in Kauai several years ago, we went on a helicopter ride and I had to give my weight - they asked for it discreetly - but I really wasn't sure of my weight because I hadn't weighed for such a long time. I was really scared to guess because in a chopper, weight can affect the safety and the very lives of the other passengers...the last time my weight had been checked at the doc's office it was two sixty-something. I stepped behind a screen and weighed. I was then seated in the front seat next to the pilot. The other three people in our party were in the back seat. So..my weight plus the weight of the pilot's was equal to the three in the back (two of the three were men and the third was a fairly-good sized woman, too). :oops:

There is a ride down to the floor of the Grand Canyon by either mule or horse, I even forget now. The weight limit is 200 pounds. I've always wanted to do that ride....

Maybe this fall!

24k....We were at the Grand Canyon last year...had looked into the mule ride as a friend of mine had experienced it....believe it or not we had to make reservations months in advance so it was out for us, however, my sweet...sweet friend who is 78 and young as can be went on it...her husband waited for her as he was not interested...it was an overnighter...she was soo glad she had done it..although her anxiety level was the highest ever....(the mule only has a very narrow path to walk on with no barriers on the side...completely open...) NOW TALK ABOUT HAVING FAITH...you do what the mule does ...you don't try to change his ways..you have to trust him.....Kinda like Medifast....have faith...follow the plan...don't reinvent the method...and trust..and both journey's have an exilarating outcome!!!!! :D

That right there is enough to tell me that I never want to ride a mule down the grand canyon. :)

Nancy, I've never been on a helicopter either. It's sad how many things out there that we avoid because of our weight. This past couple of weeks I've noticed myself getting out of the house more. I've driven up to see hubby at work, today I took the kids to the park. Things I haven't done in years... mostly because medifast makes me feel so good that I get bored just sitting around the house. I took away my bon-bons and now the couch potato part isn't as fun as it used to be.

Yep, that foodiness robs us of LIFE!!! Life and all its special activities.

Donna, I liked your analogy of the ride to the Grand Canyon - if you want to truly be successful and make this the LAST big time effort to really get the flab out of your life, then you must be as stubborn as a mule in your efforts to stick to the plan.

We are on a dangerous journey here folks. Some of you are on the very narrow ledge of life and death. Do you realize how blessed you are to have this amazing Take Shape For Life Program and our great Medifast products right there in your little shake jar and on your cupboard shelves? Some of you are teetering between not so okay health and some on the brink of death by forkicide. I say this from my heart.

I was on the road to self-destruction with every handful and forkful I shoved in.

Some of you are young and you have a lot of livin’ to do and you’re going to miss out on a lot of it because you’re not following the program, you’re giving up too soon, your messing with things here that are already proven to work; some of you are more experienced in life, like moi and our pathway to the Canyon is significantly shorter than some of the others and if we wanna see the beautiful colors of life and all that remains, we MUST make permanent lifestyle changes now, quit playing around, get the job done and then live like #78 – rip of the top of a packet, dump it into the shaker jar with ounces of water, shake it up, slurp and burp and get on with all the lie that’s in us! Sometimes when I am preaching, I talk about people as being “Donkeyhearts.” There are times that having a stubborn donkeyheart is good – have one for your weight loss plan, for your weight maintenance plan. Be a Donkeyheart about your life. Grab hold of the neck fur, put your ears back and let’s ride the Canyon!
