So I know i with a few of you in chat tuesday i mentioned i might be gone this weekend. I am driving up to gainesville from orlando to visit my friend jeanean in the hospital. She was born with a hole in her heart and has has quite a few surgeries over the span of her life (she is 27, same bday as me actually

)anyways over the past month she started having trouble with her heart again (last surgery was 4 years ago) the bottom of her heart isnt pumping enough so they are going to try medication, if that doesnt work, a pacemaker, if that doesnt work then she will be facing a heart transplant. me and her best friend cara are praying it doesnt have to get to that point but if it does that everything goes alright. I am leaving on saturday and i will be back at the latest monday...keep her in your thoughts please. Just in the past year i have known her she has become such an important person in my life and i know she doesnt want to have to go through another surgery. i am really frustrated for her i guess because it sucks, she gets her life back in order after recovering from the last surgery and thinks she is doing good and this happens. i may hop on at my friend jenns real quick so if you want to pm me or email me you can. thanks alot guys you all are great

ty ian that means alot. she has been if not one of the most supportive as i have started this...actually she is pretty damn supportive of me all the time. i can only try and return the same support

and thanks... i talked to her tonight quite a bit, i also talked to my aunt who has similar heart issues (the bottom of the heart not pumping the way it should) and my aunt made me feel a little more optimistic that maybe her meds might do the trick. if not then she is trying to not have to go back home with her parents, i told her if she has to go in for surgery then i would definitely be here to help her while she recovers. so im feeling a little better. otherwise she would be moving a good 5 hours drive away from here and i dont really have many friends i would consider really close anymore... though i am really glad i have started making some friends on here.. this may be only my second week but you all kept me going alot. when i even think about getting something off plan i have hopped on here and read posts or blogged on extrapounds.com... so again big thanks ya'll

I know what you mean. I moved halfway across the country, to a place where I didn't know anyone, last summer. Having friends on here has been a lifesaver.

That is so GREAT you're going up to be there when your friend needs you! Have a safe drive and your friend is in my thoughts!

I also have had trouble keeping friends with the travel schedule, but the people I've met here have made all the difference!

jeanean is going to see about them bringing a fold out bed so me and cara can stay with her, but they do have a room in her ward where you can hop online and check emails and stuff so i may pop on a little

. might need you guys' help with figuring out what to do for my L&G meals lol

blah i am more upset now.... we went to see her we had fun... did a little day spa thing for her and watched movies all night... but they basically told her this morning that she is going to need a transplant down the line... but she isnt sick enough for one right now, so they are putting in an implantable cardiac defibrillator for now and putting her on meds... it means she comes home soon but what me and cara are scared of is what happens if she has to wait too long or idk... it just sucks hearing that about one of your best friends... the a-hole doctor was talking to her and she says "do i have to get it " and he replied " no but it's better than sudden death" way to go for your bedside manner... anyways..im just feeling a little down

...needed to vent...
