Yeah, normally my husband is supportive, but he is not on as a restrictive regiment as I am. I am STARVING right now. I would gladly kill somebody for a spoonful of peanut butter and a piece of bread....I walked/jogged for 40 minutes on Saturday, 52 minutes (I got in three miles!) on Sunday, and 25 minutes today. I am going to eat a PB maintenance bar and hopefully that will calm me down. I am working on a massive project for one of my college classes and that has me all stressed out, which always triggers my hunger. I ate two packages of the soy crisps this evening-I needed the salt...

I find myself craving salt quite often when I'm on MF, but mostly in the first few days. I'll put tons of it on whatever my lean is for the day. The craving does usually die down, though. I hope you aren't feeling so hungry tomorrow. There's a whole issue with properly fueling your workouts so maybe on the days you do three miles, it would be good to have an additional supplement. You really shouldn't be starving at this point, I don't think. Might need to tweak the food a bit on workout days.

Yeah-I think I am going to have an extra shake on the days I work out. At the center today, that is what my counselor recommended. I am hoping that the salt and bread thing goes away. It is really the only thing I can't kick. The crunch bar and shakes really satisfy my sweet tooth-it is just the snack thing that really gets me.

Salt isn't the end of the world, but even a half a slice of bread can keep you from being successful! Look on the lean cuisine section of MMT and check out the recipes for making "bread" like product using the MF oatmeals. When I was desperate back when I started in '07, I found that to be helpful until I really kicked the carb habit.

Like I said in my journal, I am able to have a couple TBSP's of peanut butter 2 or 3 times a day and still stay in fat burning. If you watch the sugar and carb levels and IF you can keep from downing the whole jar, you can use 1 TBSP of peanut butter as your snack. It isn't much, but having a TBSP is better than none at all.

Keep on chuggin! I am available all day since I am still off work because of my ankle so feel free to PM if/when you need a little more support.

Thank you so much! I bought the peanut butter crunch bars today and I must admit-they are pretty tasty! I wish I would have had one last night. I thought about making the "bread" but I don't have any oatmeal and I really really hate it, so I don't want to spend the $ on it.

There is also a recipe for pizza crust made out of cauliflower - TOTALLY YUMMY, might be worth checking out.

I got a recipe from the center today for bread. I may try it when I get some more eggs. I am still craving peanut butter! I did fix a pretty yummy dinner tonight. I cooked spaghetti squash, extra lean hb meat and two cans of italian diced tomatoes and made "spaghetti". It turned out really good! I probably went over my veggie count, but at least it wasn't the meat this time. My husband like it too, but he didn't like the spaghetti squash by itself. I thought it was divine-it tastes like sweet corn. I get to walk/jog my first 5K tomorrow!

I'm sorry, but I have no idea what spaghetti squash is - some kind of veggie noodle?

Good luck with the 5k!

Well, I walked/jogged the 5K in a whopping 53:23. I am still training for another one on Memorial Day. I am hoping to get under 50 and eventually under 45.

I have decided to not weight at home but once a week. The last time I weighed in at the center it was first thing in the morning, so of course the # was lower than when I have to go weigh in after school. I am finding that I am enjoying the exercise. My problem in the past is that I would never even try to jog. I always tried to walk fast and that actually was more difficult. I just walked yesterday (I am not quite confident enough to jog in public by the football field where my students can see me) and today I put off working out until like 6:30. I didn't do so well for dinner I had a very low-carb (5g, 80 calories, 3g fiber) tortilla with extra lean ground beef, taco seasonings, and Ranch Style beans. I am not sure if I was suppose to have the beans or not, but I know the tortilla was not allowed. I also did have like 2 cups of steamed broccoli. That's one of the reasons I got on the treadmill. When I finally dragged myself up there I decided to see how long I could jog. I jogged for 8 minutes and 30 seconds at 4 mph. I rested for three minutes and then jogged for 3 more minutes. I actually decided to try to crank it up to 5 mph-I only lasted about 1 minute. I ended doing 2 miles in 32 minutes and 12 seconds. When I started walking on the treadmill it was a stretch for me to get a mile in under 20 minutes. It takes me about 15 minutes into the workout to get past my dislike of it and afterward I have so much energy. I am full of hope that I can keep this up and begin jogging for even longer periods of time and shorter recovery times.

That 5K time sounds pretty great to me. As you shave off pounds from your body and minutes from your time, I can only imagine how powerful you will feel - how healthy.

I don't think your dinner was awful. It's all about making lifestyle changes, and not heading to a fast food place is really a great step forward.

Good luck with your weekly weigh-ins. That scale can be a friend and a burden all at the same time.

I am having a really crappy day. I had a sliver of chocolate creme pie and I am having killer shin splints which are seriously detracting from working out. My husband tore his hamstring and is being a jerk as well-so not such a great time for me. Venting or trying to makes me feel a little better.

Well-I had really hoped I wouldn't cheat too much while on the program, but this week well....I screwed up not once, not twice, but three times. I am thankful that I lost at least a pound. On Wednesday I had a complete breakdown that involved chips, salsa and queso. So, I didn't eat anything else for the rest of the day and walked/jogged for three miles. On Friday we went to Texas Roadhouse and I ate one and half of the rolls with butter. Last night I had two ground beef kebabs (Persian style) and about a cup of the saffron rice with lots of onions......Hopefully my workout Saturday morning will offset some of it. I didn't even write about mother's day, which was also a total wash. The only thing that I am thankful for is the exercise. I never thought I would utter those words. I hate it for like the first 30 minutes, but once I can get past that the next 30 are fine and afterwards I have so much energy.
