CBBUTLER2 ... welcome to the forum and welcome to MediFast. This is definitely the best place to find support, encouragement, and motivation. I am on the full fast so I'm not to helpful on the grocery list questions, but someone will stop by and answer your questions so keep 'em coming.

Hi CB and Image

Get ready to be really impressed! WOOHOO!!!!
This is only my first week and I feel GREAT so far!

Can't help much on what meats to buy as I'm vegetarian.
Just be sure to get plenty of fresh or frozen veggies on the list in your quick start book, salad, eggs or eggbeaters (use as your lean to change things up a bit), Pam cooking spray, "I can't believe it's not butter" spray, cottage cheese in place of your lean if you like as well.
I know there is more...I just can't think of any more on the spot. :D

You are gonna do GREAT!

Welcome!

My staples are boneless, skinless chicken breasts, with occasional beef (steak or tri-tip roast) and lamb; fresh green beans, roasted (occasionally broccoli roasted with garlic, or zucchini or eggplant); olive oil spray; salsa; hot sauce; a variety of marinades and rubs (all sugar-free or low-sugar and low-fat); DaVinci sugar-free syrups (for adding to oatmeal, puddings and cocoa); Splenda; and parchment paper (for roasting veggies).

I buy the chicken breasts in giant packs and just take out what I need every few days, I get the veggies fresh every week (but keep some frozen veggies on hand for emergencies), and the rest I keep around as staples.

Hope that helps!!

I am not sure if all Algertsons run the same specials but here in FL they have the boneless skinless chicken breast on sale right now for 1.49lb I went and bought 20lbs packaged a few breasts in each package. Also if you like other seafood besides fish there is always shrimp or you can chose some lean loin pork chops too!

You might also look for different chicken seasonings just read the ingredients and watch out for sugar and some Molly McButter and some ICBINB spray

Hi CB and welcome!

My advice (of course) is don't forget the snacks! I LIVED on SF Jello my first week (1 per day of course). I found them in the perfect single serving sized cups and that helped a lot! Don't forget the celery & pickles! Leave it to me to suggest the extras!

Welcome!

Hi CB,

Great to have you here! You'll get lots of great advice and recipes.

Have you thought about turkey? You can get turkey breast or turkey burgers. You can do a lot with them, just like chicken. And don't forget the ground chicken!
