OFF TOPIC WARNING: Prayers for my dad

Postby Jeanette » March 7th, 2004, 8:01 am

Hi everyone--

Please keep my dad in your prayers. He had major surgery on Tuesday, and it has been a real rollercoaster ride. Today he is not doing so well.

Thanks!

Dear, DEAR Jeanette ~

Oh, how I wish we could come and sit with you and  put our arm around your shoulder while your Daddy has his surgery tomorrow. You have been under such a lot of emotional pressure and we certainly DO want you to know that we are praying for you and for your Daddy.

Lord, we ask that You would be ever close to Jeanette and her Father this day and throughout tomorrow. Every day of life is a gift extended by Your will. We know that You alone, Lord God know the number of days that are ordained for us and we place our trust in Your hands regarding Jeanette's precious Daddy.

By Your Spirit, come alongside of our friends, encourage them and strengthen them, enable them to walk through the difficult days ahead by Your grace.

Holding you close in our  heart and in our prayers, Friend Jeanette.

Thanks to all of you for the prayers and good thoughts. Daddy is steadily improving. Please continue to keep him in your thoughts.

This has been difficult for me, and it has made me want to go back to my old ways of eating, but I keep thinking of Guido knocking on my door with an uzi in his arms saying "Fugeddaboudit!" And that is enough to keep me on the straight and narrow!!

Thanks again!

Hang on, be right with you, I am on the phone w/ Southwest.

SW: Yes Mr. Guido we do fly non stop to Indiana.
Guido: Good thing for you.
SW: Shall I book you now Mr. Guido?
Guido: No, Jeanette is still on the straight and narrow at the moment.
SW: Indiana appears to be a hick town, Mr. Guido, there is pleanty of seating.
Guido: Do they have cars, color TV's and flushing toilets in Indy?
SW: Mr. Guido, I can't answer this, as I have never been to Indy.
Guido: Do I need to call a couple of pipe thumpers to your terminal for clarification?
SW: One second Mr. Guido (pause) Your in luck Mr. Guido, color TV's and auto's are something new in Indy, they appear to have just come out of the dark ages.
Guido: Ok, keep my booking open, she is OK now, but might need a visit from "da-cement-chooz" if she stray's
SW: o-o-o-ok mmmmrrrrr Guido. dddooone (shaky voice)

Well Jeanette, you appear to be safe now..... No visit from Guido anytime soon!

We now resume your regularly scheduled Medi-programming.

Oh Guido Guido Guido....you're such a smarty pants! (Size 38's I believe!)

Wanted to clarify something with you all too: My dad's surgery was a week ago today (the 2nd of March). So, he is post surgery about a week now.

Thanks again!
