Hi Everybody,
I had to take my Dad back to the hospital yesterday. He has developed an infection in the lower leg (same leg of the knee replacement). We're not sure yet what type of infection or if the infection is in the knee itself (which would be very bad).

Please keep him in your prayers ...... we need all the help we can get right now. I'm on my way up to the hospital, but I don't know if they'll have any news yet. I'll keep you posted, thanks,
Carrie

HI Guys!
Thanks for all the prayers......guess what? THEY WORKED!!!

We had a pretty bad experience at a hospital down here (with a remarkably bad reputation), they had Dad on antibiotics, no pain medicine (7 days after a total knee replacement), not on his physical therapy machine, and had a heating pad on his leg. When I got back to the hosp. yesterday morning and saw what was happening, I checked him out and made him suffer the 4 hour drive out of the Keys to the Doc and Hosp that did his knee surgery.

His doctor said it's not an infection, just normal bruising and swelling and that he needs his pain meds, needs ice not heat, needs to be on the therapy machine and doesn't need antibiotics. Sooooooooooo, the bad hospital wasn't fun, but the outcome of no infection is the best news possible!!!!! :yippee:

I'm here at my parents still today but hope to return home tonight and get back on my program. Thank you so much for all your prayers and positive thoughts,
Carrie

Carrie:

So glad to hear about your dad! You must be relieved. Stress and worry can sap the energy out of a person faster than anything I think. We look forward to having you back with us. Hopefully you will continue to get good news about your father.
