OKAY!!! I need to get rid of the scale. I've been weighing myself twice a day. I should be ashamed to even admit that! Should I hide it?

I do the same thing. The problem is when it effects your moods and you want to eat because you dont think your going to succeed. So I think it just depends on your personality. Many people have a family member hide it. I just might do that eventually. Just know weight changes up and down so much that weighing only once a week keeps your emotions from going up and down too.

As long as it does not effect your mood you could weigh 10x a day but if it is affecting your mood than I would hide it. Also remember that you weigh more as the day goes on.

Twice a day isn't bad....I am normally somewhere around 4 it seems like. I know my Dr. said just throw away the scale and concentrate on be loyal to the program and there will be no worries. But for me it is a reminder and a motivator. I find when I don't get on the scale and that normally indicates that I have slipped and don't want to face the gain. BTW

Made the 10lb. club this morning.

I weigh myself 2 or 3 times a day. It is so dumb of me, but I can't help myself. It doesn't upset me so I guess it is ok. When I get up in the morning after going to the bathroom is when I weigh myself for my stats. That is when I weigh the least.

Keep up the great work. You can do it!

I am right there with you....I weigh in like 3 times in the first hour of my day...LOL...Then I don't dare get back on because I know it will creep up.But I really look forward to weighing in each morning just to remind me of my medifast day ahead and how I need to stick with it.

I think I am going to have my husband hide the scale after next Sunday. That way I will have 1 week of surprise. It probably won't work though ..I will probably beg for it back mid week..
LOL

Hang in there!!!

I weigh myself everyday in the morning, but really only pay attention to the weekly weigh in. I know weight fluctuates but I just have a very strong curiosity to know what my weight is every day. Unless I am doing bad then I avoid the scale. Now that I have started MF I won't have to avoid it anymore!

It's so funny how we all do the same thing! This is day 5 for me and I finally hid my scale in the closet so it wouldnt be calling me everythime I went into my action packed bathroom. I will dig it out for Friday and try to do just a weekly weigh-in...well at least that is my goal for the moment..

A lot of people say to only weigh once a week, and I tried that...but it doesn't work for me. I weigh every morning and occasionally at other times during the day.

You have to realize that your weight fluctuates daily though, so don't get too upset if you don't lose (or you gain a pound).

The only time I've ever been bothered is when I didn't lose for six straight days, and the time I gained FOUR pounds in a single day. Both of those times, it worked itself out over the next few days though...so all is well.

ascicles is right.. my weight actually fluctuates everyday. One day I gain half a pound, the next I lose one. As long as the weekly result is good, that's all that matters to me. I'm on the scale constantly and do get a little bummed to see it go up, but it just encourages me to get on that treadmill.

OMG 'YALL!

I was the one who cried like a baby because I got on my scale mid week (after not cheating at all) and GAINED weight! I was SO UPSET!

I learned that, for me, weekly weigh-in's are better. I am the type who freaks out over gains or stand-stills and starts thinking 'is this worth it?' ... I hid my scale and we take it out early Sunday morning and I weigh in. That works better for me. ;)

I can tell by the way my clothes fit that I am doing well.

God bless all of you who can face that "evil beast" more than once a week and not have it bother you

God! I love this program :cheermed:

I'm the same way. I weigh myself in the morning before I leave for work and then when I get home. It stinks to have this scale addiction! I love it when I come home and it is less than I weighed with nothing in my tummy!

Guilty!

It's amazing how it dampens your mood, even though you know it's going to go down (and can't be right if it's up!). I'm getting to the place that I can reason it out with myself... pretty much but it still does a number. I don't think I could ever hide it though!!

I have found that if I weigh once a day right before I go to work before I have eaten anything that I consistantly see results. I haven't had the scale go up on me yet knock on wood but I know that even if it doesn't move in 2 days it will be down at least a pound. It motivates me when it doesn't move because I know I need to drink more water that day and it helps me get it all in plus more.
