I spent this past weekend at the nursing home with my Dad. On Saturday, I was walking through the dining room and a little old lady and her daughter were in there, as I passed by, the old lady said loudly (obviously she was a bit hard of hearing) "oh look at that pretty blonde girl". I just smiled and didn't say anything, thinking the woman was OBVIOUSLY in the late stages of dementia. Then, on Sunday, I was sitting with my dad and some of his friends (I took them pizza for lunch) and everyone was talking at once, but my dad (who barely speaks, much less pays attention now) leaned over and said "they are talking about how pretty you are". I hadn't heard a word of it, but it made me feel great!
So, if all else fails, I know that I am a hit with the nursing home crowd!
