Snowboarding season opened yesterday! So, of course I was there when the lifts started running. It is a completely different sport this year. At the end of last season I was nearly 80 lbs heavier than I was this year. My coat and pants no longer looked like sausage casing, in fact they are the same outer wear I used last year and I am drowing in them.
Last season I would be huffing and puffing just getting off the lift and trying to strap in, it's hard to explain but imaging trying to stap your feet to a board when you can't see them. I was even able to get up on my heel edge, something I have never been able to do because my gut was in the way of bending. Yesterday I took 7 runs in a row without pausing. It felt incredible! I have never had so much fun boarding :) It is going to be a great season!

Wow! Yippie!!

I think that is awesome that you can enjoy nature and something you obviously love unhindered and unburdened by extra pounds! You go, girl!! WOHOO!!!!

That is one of my dreams - to enjoy winter sports. My college had many ski trips and I never went because of the "sausage factor" you mentioned.

Great job, Lenainie!
Where do you board? Good snow in Utah this year (as always), I hear...

I board at Brighton (well this year). It was a surprisingly good opening, more snow than expected even some powder to be found in the trees. Here's to hoping for a long wet winter :)
