"special" sizes

Postby fairladyj » February 26th, 2007, 5:25 pm

I lost quite a bit of weight a few years ago and it was so great to look thru the Silhouettes catalog, and realize that everything in it was too big! Also, you realize that even though their styles are lots better than they used to be, the clothes just aren't as stylish as others.

What still burns me, though, is that many manufacturers and stores only stock up to size 12. I even used to go into some of those places and say - "do you realize that 30% of women in the US wear a size 14 or over?" and "Think of all the business you are giving up" - back in my Fat Panther Liberation Front days.

I still have trouble classifying a 12 as an XL though - I'm old enough to remember when that was a Medium in most brands. 'course back then, even the models and celebs weren't size 0!
