Hi everyone. I got a call last night that my one year old neice, Alexandra(Alex) has been hospitalized for breathing probs she was having, along with high temps and being ill. It was found though the test they ran that she has RSV and is on oxygen and albuterol(last I heard) She was doing better last I talked to my brother but I still would appreciate prayers for her. I am undecided if I am gonna try to get there this weekend...She has a 3 year old brother but I am not sure if my coming we be more of a hindrance, then a help..at this point. Will see after I talk to them.

Finally got to talk to my brother. Yesterday when Alex was admitted her oxygen levels were down to 86 (95-100) are normal so her pulmonary function was pretty compromised. She has been on continous oxygen(nose canulas) and albuterol treatments every hour. Today, her last Oxygen reading was up to 92 so she is coming along.

I can do prayers!! She's a beautiful little girl. Praise God RSV is curable. Alex is going to be fine. She's got a thoughtful Aunt Gina who goes to THE source for prayers and gets others to agree with her.

I wanted to thank you all for all your thoughts and prayers.

Alex got to come home this evening. Her Oxygen levels came up to 94. She is on antibiotics and a liquid steroid to help clear her lungs, and nebulized albuterol every three hours. She sounds good I got to talk to her for a moment but she thought it was "da-de" and once she realized it wasn't I was 'chopped liver'. lol

I feel for my sis-in-law because my brother had to go to work...and I know how exhausting keeping up with the treatments can be. My 10 year old has Asthma and occasionally we have had to do the nebulized albuterol, round the clock, every 4 hours.
She's gonna be a tired mama.

I appreciate you all more then you know.

I can really empathize with your neice. I spent allot of time myself as a child in the hospital for asthma and its sucks. I pray she gets well soon and hopefully grows out of her asthma. Its hard to see a child suffer. I am praying for her and you Ron

Thank God Alex is now home and doing better! Our prayers and thoughts will be with her and her mama---she is so precious!
