Lizabeth is you don't mind me asking, how much have you lost and the time period involved. I know it is different for everyone, but I'm curious. Actually on the medifast message board I have read messages from many people (especially women) who have lost slowly.

6 pounds in 2 weeks is not slow. It's fast by any other standards than Medifast. Don't be discouraged, just stick to it and the pounds will drop off.

I agree and believe me I'm not discouraged, I'm encouraged on feeling this good and I think the program right now is easy for me. Takes the portion and guess work out of the equation and I like that. Every night before bed I go to the box and take out lunch for the next day. :D

norma wrote:Hello everyone,
I'm Norma and I just completed my second week and I'm down 6. Yes I know I should be happy and I am but I really thought it would be more especially after reading how everyone else did in the beginning. I'm following program exactly, no add-ons and no deletions. I'm even drinking the water and doing exercise.
I'm not giving up. I decided right from the start that I have five weeks of food and will see it through. I only set a 10 pound goal weight loss in this period of time because I know that this body just doesn't seem to want to give it up, it might take me longer. I want to lose 40 pounds.
Has anyone else lost slowly in the beginning? Does it eventually pick up?
Looking forward to getting to know you and the support you offer.

Hi NORMA,
To begin with, you have lost 6 pounds in 2 weeks. GOOD! You have only 40 pounds to lose, which means you may lose at a slower pace than say someone who has twice that much to lose...BUT NO PROBLEM. It is better to lose slowly, so your body will adjust and you learn to maintain easier.
Yes, I felt I was a slow loser. I have lost 60-65 pounds depending on the day I weigh.
I began on January 12, 2006 at 195# and reached goal of 135# on August 31, 2006. (about 7 & 1/2 months) I have maintained that for about 6 & 1/2 months now.
Of course, you are aware that it also depends on compliance with the plan. If you do that, I believe that you be be so happy with the results that you will continue on to your goal.
And I can also tell you this, the help and encouragement I received from this forum helped immensely.
So learn your Quickstart by heart, get all the help you can get, and jump in 100% and you will get there, I promise.
Be happy, NORMA, And a BIG welcome!

lizabette, thank you so much, I can't tell you how much this helps me to hear this. My goals are similar to yours but more encouraging is the fact that you have kept it off. Congratulations and thanks for the words of encouragement. I'll let you know how I do on Tuesday, the end of my third week.

Welcome, Norma! You are doing very well -- don't be discouraged. As long as that needle is moving downward on the scale, it's a victory!
