Wow Nicki, You put it into perspective, 100 days is not a long time. And that I have to do this. Do it now or do it tomorrow. It needs to be done. So I might as well get it done now. Thanks for the great out look. (I really felt like cheating today.) Proud of myself that I did not.

Nickie,

I know what you mean, without this challenge I may have broken down in the grocery store today. This challenge has just given the extra push I need. Its like I am more present about my choices.

Hope you are getting some rest today.

You are doing fantastic staying on program. You must be very happy about that!

Thanks for the support, everyone! Today I got a 2-hour nap so that helped to make it a great day, and the scale was back down a bit so that helped, too. I did not have such a hard time staying on plan today as yesterday. However, I did have a moment when I gave my daughter her leftover birthday cake from Sunday (today was her actual birthday) and I thought of how in the past I would just eat it all myself. Really - I could eat a whole quarter of a sheet cake on my own in two days. I've done it. But it helped that the cake had gotten hard in the fridge - I had to poke around to find the soft spots for her to have and it wasn't appetizing after that. And she said the cutest thing - when the cake was gone I got up to throw out the rest, and she said "Oh no! My happy birthday cake!!" Well, I thought it was cute - I think everything she says and does is adorable, though. She came to work with me today at my church job and that was fun, too. So overall, a wonderful day! Oh, and rehearsal got out 2 HOURS earlier than I expected. Woo hoo!

Well, my journal was on top of the 'new posts' list so I have lots more reading to do yet. The first ten days will be over in one hour, with my last shake. On to the next ten - Friday the 27th is the end of the next installment. We are so going to do this, everybody!!

I am getting concerned about maintenance. With my life plans, we could be talking about it at the end of this 100 days. And I'm not prepared. I am still ruled by food. The wrong foods. I know all the facts about how to eat healthy but obviously I've not ever put them into practice for long. So in a way I am savoring this challenge, because it might be my last chance at such a no-brainer way of eating for a while. And I really am hopeful that I could get to the 100# club before having to go off-program for a while.

[b]NICK, Most of us have/had the same concerns. I was so concerned that I started reading up on Maintenance way before I got there.
After so long, I could see how that I could do it, just as I was able to do the weight loss phase.
Granted, not as easy, because we had more choices, but by the time I got there I was pretty brainwashed, if you will, in just what I had to do.

So not to worry as much as learning all you can. Below is the MF Transition/Maintenance Guide which is much more detailed than the original one that I studied.
It can be downloaded and printed if needed.
The way you are going, there is every probability that you will get to the 100# club as you said.
The 100 Day Challenge has been a godsend to you all (thanks to you) and will take you and the other challengers to goal, for sure!
You guys are all amazing me!

Thanks for posting that, Lizabette. I hadn't seen the new maintenance guide. It's MUCH more detailed than the one we had (but geez, couldn't they find more people who had maintained their weight longer than a few months? They could start with folks right here!).

A good day but a long one - we are in full swing with the show now so I may be more quiet than usual. But I still come here everyday, I just might not post so much. I'll try!

I'm still here! It feels so good every morning to wake up knowing I have nothing foody to regret from the day before, and that there is no question that the coming day will be compliant.

Thank you for the transition guide link, Lizabette - I did print it out and I'm sure I'll be reading it often. I looked at the walking program especially and maybe I will start that soon. In another week I will be either working or home alone with the baby all the time - but if I'm really serious about it I could get up early and walk. That doesn't sound like much fun but if I believe all the exercisers here, all I have to do is START (much like MF) and eventually I'll find that I love and need it for my day to be complete.

So - July 30 I will begin my walking program (that's the first day after my musical is over). I will get up early that Monday morning. The walking program says to only do it 3 days a week but I have a feeling if I don't do it more regularly than that, I'll give it up. So I'm going to shoot for walking every day that I work. That way I will still feel that I get a break, and walking on days off is always an option if I get so I miss moving.

Well, I'm going to finish up here and then join my daughter watching Dora. We are having a pajama day today, and I am really looking forward to that nap in a few hours! I need to catch up on some sleep (they say you can't do that, but I don't believe it. I DO feel better on days I have naps, so it must be helping somehow).

Nickie, why not walk WITH the baby? I see moms out with kids in strollers all the time around here.

I could - I just thought it would be easier (at first, at least) to get myself going if it didn't require packing up the little one. If I could just get out of bed and go. I was thinking my morning walk could be my exercise walk and then if I wanted another one later I could take her with me - at least while the weather is nice. An after-dinner walk each night sounds nice.

That is a MAJOR Cap Hill activity. Some women actually run with the strollers.

Okay, here I come. I think that it is very good to have a plan, but I would just urge you to consider whatever your energy levels have been in the past after a show like that, and think about what you really need in order to recover from it. I don't want to discourage you from anything, I am just being a little bit motherly (if that's really possible in this cicumstance) and want you to take care of yourself.

Sometimes I think you just go and go and go until you hit a wall. You know, just be kind to yourself, and if starting a new program like walking is the exact thing you need the MORNING after a show, then that's fine. If you feel you need the walking program though, and you think you could use a day of rest after your musical is over (hint, hint), then perhaps you should plan something that includes both things and that might set yourself up for greater success in being kind to yourself ? What about the first week of walking every other day starting on Tuesday (Thursday and maybe Saturday) and then picking up on Monday the following week ?

Okay. Throw tomatoes if you like. Bye bye for now, Beethoven
