No apology necessary, Nickie! I only wanted to be sure you knew that I'm in your corner. :D I'm glad that you feel understood and cared for--that's a major purpose of this forum. Sleep well and may the MF fairy bless your dreams and morning weigh-in! <img src="http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/15/15_3_41.gif" alt="SmileyCentral.com" border="0"><img border="0" src="http://plugin.smileycentral.com/http%253A%252F%252Fimgfarm%252Ecom%252Fimages%252Fnocache%252Ftr%252Ffw%252Fsmiley%252Fsocial%252Egif%253Fi%253D15%252F15_3_41/image.gif">

Man, I stop reading journals for a few days and what do I miss? ;)
My own take on this little bit of a thread is that this is Nickie's journal. If someone would like to have conversations with each other and not someone else's journals, then use PM's. This comes from personal feelings, and how I would take it were this my journal.

That said, I'm thankful that Karli stepped in and posted what she did. We are all of this for our own reasons, and we are each individuals. We all make our own choices. Nickie, I think you are doing just fine, the program is working for you and even if some weeks are slower for whatever reason, you understand what needs to be done and you are doing it.

With that said, I hope that you have a great Sunday, and hope the weigh in goes well.

Ya'll can criticize me for pointing out that compliance is the best way, but I'm not gonna stop preaching it, lol.

Nickie, my post to you was only meant to point out that having 2 bars a day is not compliance as defined in the Quick Start guide. Others jumped to the conclusion that I was chastizing you. I was not. I just wanted to make it clear to newbies that compliance is clearly defined in the Quick Start guide, and yes, it does change from time to time, but not by what we define. Changes are made from the top by experts and are meant to give us the best results. I personally think there's enough proof here on the forum that the best results can be gotten through compliance. (both sides of the coin)

I will repeat from my first post to you that doing what you are doing is great if it's working for you.

This is the basis of my retraction that I hinted at on roll call today. I was lying in bed last night thinking, and I realized that Jo, Biki, and Mary all said some variation of the above - if it's working, go ahead. That's what I said I wanted - to be understood. But because you all didn't say 'rah rah Nickie' or something like that, I was cranky about it. How could I ever feel supported if I'm going to overlook the support I'm getting and keep whining that you're not saying the exact words I'm looking for? My husband says to me sometimes 'I failed MindReading101.' I obviously don't see that I'm doing it in the moment, but upon reflection yesterday I do realize that I basically said the support I was getting wasn't good enough and I wanted more.

I am still appreciative of the discussion and the comments, and the additional support I got this morning from Mike and Jo. I will try harder to try not to react so suddenly to what I THINK I'm reading, and instead read more carefully and actually LISTEN to what you all are saying instead of already formulating my response in my mind. These are all basic communication skills that my husband and I have gone over in counseling in the past, but they are not sinking in yet I guess. Maybe in 5 more years or so....

Anyway - down 4.1# this week, so I'm happy and hoping it continues to go so well. Off to church!

No, she is just the closest we have to an MF goddess on the boards. (OOOPS, don't let Nancy know I said that! She is a very close second!)

I'm doing well so far today. I was up a bit this morning but I don't get enough water on the weekends and I had a 2nd bar AND soy crisps yesterday so I deserve to be up. I was binging - on legal foods, but still. I was just reading Jo's journal about the trail mix incident and I see that I am going to always need to be on alert for this behavior. And Lisa is back and said that she lost 100# and has gained it all back, and that scared me, too, that it could be so easy to go back to where I was after all this time and effort. It's sobering. I'm moving in the right direction but I have more to learn and I need to get closer to real compliance. My little changes are working so far but I always said I'd be watching for bad behavior and last night counts. I'm not going to berate myself because that's proven counterproductive in the past, but I am officially on alert.

Today at school is going well, too, thanks for asking Mike! I feel much calmer today than I did last week. And Mondays are my busiest day so that's saying something. I have lots more to read on here and only 4 minutes left of lunch so bye for now.

Nickie, Have you tried substituting oatmeal for that second bar? Oatmeal is just as filling as a bar and it's sweet, too. Just a thought.

And the oatmeal as cookies/muffins is easy as a bar to have too.

I'm leery of cooking but I do have apple cinnamon oatmeal and I keep wanting to try the cookie/muffin thing. I'm really liking the maple/brown sugar oatmeal lately so I ordered more of that this month. I also went up to 3 cases of RTDs so I am on my way to trying to lick this problem!

The thing about last night is that I didn't need the 2nd bar - I broke my own rule. I wasn't having any cravings, and in fact, I wasn't even hungry (that's been my problem for several days now). And yet not only did I have another bar, I had soy crisps too. So it was definitely a binge even though more or less legal. If I can't get it under control I'll have to come up with another plan, but I'm hopeful that I can master this.

Today I'm doing well with water (82oz so far) but not as good as usual - but Mondays I don't drink as much because I don't have as many breaks. And I was actually feeling pretty chubby today but another person commented on my weight loss so that improved my mood. I'm just about set to go home, teach piano lessons, then go get my daughter from grandma's house, then have a meeting about the summer musical, and finally after that I can go to bed. Oh, and I have to remember to eat a couple of times too. I like not being hungry but on the other hand, it makes me spread out my supplements more during the day so that I'm eating too many of them at night too close together. I guess I need to get a watch with an alarm to remind me to eat on time.
