Processed Turkey/Chicken?

I don't really know what these are called, but they are basically "rolls" of turkey or chicken. They pretty much remind me of the giant deli rolls that they use in the grocery...except they are smaller. Ham comes this way as well.

Anyway, is this something that is acceptable? I assume that it is basically the same thing sa packaged turkey, but slicing it from this would be much better (and thicker).

I bought some ...

Day Two - Not Hungry At All

I just started the plan yesterday. From everything I've heard, the first three days are really rough and you are hungry most of the time. Yesterday, I was a little hungry, but it wasn't that bad. Today, I am having to force myself to eat.

Granted, this sounds like a good thing, but I'm curious about whether this is normal? I felt a little under the weather yesterday (prior to my first meal on the ...

Newbie question

Hi,

I am on day 2 and everything os far is going well. I just read that the meat serving size is after cooking - how do you figure this out before hand (know how much to make)? I have 5oz filet mignons that I get from Omaha Steaks - it is a good size steak - is that enough or should I have more (I only plan to have steak 1 or 2 times ...

Some beginner questions

I want to make sure I am doing everything right on this plan, so please help me with some of these questions. I've tried searching the board, but there are so many topics, it's hard to find specific topics. Here goes!

1. What type of salad dressing is ok? According to the book, I should have low fat/low carb. When at the store, the best I could find is Hidden Valley Fat Free ranch. It ...

Pickle Question!

I was looking through the booklet and it claims that you can have two pickles as a snack. What constitutes a "pickle". Is this a full size dill pickle (like you would find in a large jar), or a spear pickle (like you find in smaller jars). Also, are any types of pickles available? I like kosher dills, which seems fairly standard.

Long term use of MF

The more I read here, it seems many people have been maintaining still using MF as part of their diet. My consultation ended with the start of the 5/1 plan and to not worry about transition and long term yet..just stay focused.

About the meal with the 5/1

Hi all. I just started and am enthusiastic about this. I'll be around for support and to share the same. By the way I am a male/45.

My nurse explained the program and in discussing the L&G meal, she said for sure I could have a little more than 5-6 oz. of protein, and more vegetables as I saw fit. I should have questioned her I guess, but later concluded that as a man I ...

Lite NonDairy Creamer in the AHwa & Shay

"AHwa" means coffee and "Shay" means tea in Arabic! ;)

The Quick Guide States "You may use skim milk or small amounts of half-and-half in your coffee or tea..."

Today I had a cup of coffee with 3 tsp of lite non-dairy creamer (and Splenda). Per Teaspoon, the Creamer has 10 calories, <.5 grams of fat, and 2 carbs (with absolutely no other nutritional value whatsoever!)

I ...
