Weight Loss During First Week?

Hi Folks,

I'm new to Medifast (and the boards). I lost 3 pounds my first week and I'm okay and encouraged by that but I was wondering . . . it seemed like other folks on here lost alot more weight during their first week.

Is it common to lose alot of weight during the first week on Medifast like alot of people do the first week of any diet? (you know, 7, 8, 12 ...

Hummus?

Hi Folks,

I really like Hummus and wondered if it could fit into the Medifast plan?
I can do without it if not but I look forward to having it again. I usually ate it with Kashi crackers or veggies but I'm on my 2nd week of Medifast and am determined not to cheat.

Thanks,

Kim

Same weight since Friday?

In week 1 I lost 5 pounds. Last week Aunt Flo was visiting, but I lost 3 pounds. I weighed in at 167 last Friday. I was hoping that right after my period, I would lose a bunch of water weight or something---but my weight has not changed since Friday. I am starting to get annoyed at this. It is easy to drink medi-meals when I am losing, but when I am staying the same ...

Talk me out of quitting...

OK,

I don't mean to sound whiney, but I am reaaaalllly discouraged here. I am starving myself for this! I only lost 1lb this week. I haven't been on the plan that long, so I shouldn't be slowing down already. I only had a 2lb loss last week. It is very expensive for me to pay the $300 a month for this program and buy groceries for the family too. I just can't justify the ...

Grrr....

This should be an inspiration to you all.

I went out to Friday's with my Mom and one of my (overweight) girlfriends this weekend. I ordered a burger, no bun, no fries, and a side of grilled onions and peppers. They both ordered the full Jack Daniels meal and garlic mashed potatoes.

When they ordered, my friend asked "Is it going to bother you to see us eat all this?" and I said no. A ...

Anyone Else Afraid of Food?

I've been doin MF for a few days now, and I can't bear the thought of eating regular food. I'm afraid the LnG meal will make my appetite come back. So, I've been using the shakes, and except for very occassional dizzyness, I feel great and am not hungry. In fact, some days I struggle to get all 6 shakes in.
Do you guys find that eating regular food stimulates your appetite?

I like it!!!

OK, I had some Chicken & Wild Rice Soup that I was going to get rid of, but then I remembered someone saying that they let it "steep" for a few hours. So, I tried it, and I like it! Very good this way!! I'm glad I decided to give it one more try.

Now, I might try to do the same with the chicken noodle and chili.

Sockeye salmon

I've always preferred sockeye salmon over other types. I know it has more fat than other types, so I was wondering-

1. Can I even have it?

2. If I can, should I just have 5 ounces like lean beef?

Any answers would be greatly appreciated :).
