Scale is only ONE measure

Last Sunday in Roll Call I was sort of disappointed about only losing 1.7 lbs. Then Diana posted a nice little reminder:

“Remember the scale is only ONE measure of how you're getting fitter, trimmer and healthier.”

Thank you Diana! I do have a tendency to get way too attached to my scale!

So I decided maybe she was right. The next day I had an idea :bigidea: ...

Plateaus - those pesky little things!

I am stealing this from another board, but I just thought it was fantastic.

When you are plateauing, you may want to look at it as "maintenance training". You don't have the scale moving to keep you motivated so you just need to eat right without the reward of the scale moving.

hmmmmm "Maintenance Training" is the term I will now use for all of you out there complaining about plateaus.......you KNOW who your are! ...

starting week 6 and down 25#!

This is my first post. I've never used a program like this before, but it seems to be working. I'm really encouraged by my weight loss so far. And the person who got me involved with it works in my office, so seeing him every day (after he's lost over 170#) both encourages me and keeps me honest.
So, with his help, your encouragement and help from the good Lord, I'll make it to goal!

I FINALLY got an NSV from my Shrinky Dink!

The first thing he said when I sat down in his office this morning was "I see you are still losing weight." He has been my psychiatrist for 8 months and this is the very first time he has commented on my weight! Towards the end of the session he said, tell me about this diet again. So I told him and even took and RTD out of my purse to show him how nutritious ...

Secret Food Obsessions Lists. Be honest!

I got this idea from AA where there are people who have been sober 20 plus years and have never had so many of the newer brands and cocktails. So they admit that they wonder what a certain drink tastes like...
So pick a food you have been thinking about a lot and get it out in the open. In therapy they always said that that took the power of it away.
I'll start and ...

Great NSV!

I posted this in my journal but thought I'd post it here for everyone to see ...

Yesterday I had to have a pre-employment check-up. Interestingly, I had the same employee-health nurse who I had last year when I did my residency. The first thing she said was, "I see we have a smaller version of Mary now! That's wonderful!" It's always nice to receive a NSV like that ...

Stuck already

I am on day 17 and the scale has not budged an ounce in 5 days! It seems so early to be stuck. I lost 10 lbs in the first 12 days. I am being very compliant. I don't even have a bar every day. No extra condiments or snacks and about 80-90 oz of water a day. I have been gardening every ...
