Why no brussel sprouts?

Anyone know why we can't eat them? They have 8 g carbs a serving but 3 is non-digestible fiber - 5 g total. Are they too caloric?

I love love love roasted any veggie but brussels are great that way . . .

Lemon Tart

I made this this morning. It was pretty good.

Filling:
1 packet Vanilla Shake
2 cups cold water
1 individual packet crystal light lemonade (the packets made for water bottles)
Lots of Ice

Put all in blender. Blend until thick and creamy.

Crust:
1 packet oatmeal (flavor of your choice--I used cinamon)
3 sprays ICBINB spray
1 TB water
1 packet splenda

Mix all together. The mixture should be crumbly like a graham cracker crust. ...

Cinnamon, diabetes and weight loss.

Just wondering if anyone else (maybe I've missed it elsewhere on this forum) has heard about the use of cinnamon to control diabetes? I've seen some articles about scientific research that's found an element in cinnamon that has a dramatic effect on insulin resistence in mice, not tested in humans yet. The suggestion I've seen is that people with Type II diabetes eat a teaspoon of plain old cinnamon every day (mix it into other ...

Great Day

My tooth hurts so bad :( I almost gave in to eat something to make myself feel better but I stopped and said to myself "not gonna do that anymore to yourself!" and I walked out of the kitchen.

I thank you all for that! Reading your posts have helped me do that!! I'm so happy even if my tooth is killing me. ...

Hi all,

Just wanted to check in with you and let you know I'm still here and still shakin'. :) My weight-stall has ended and I'm starting to lose again (I hope!) I'm now down 25.2 pounds with about 56 more lbs. to lose till I reach goal-weight. I'm in this for the long haul and settling into the Medi-groove.

With summer here and my dd's out ...

Emotional eating

I'm sure this post is probably "old news" to most of us. But I am getting new revelation into how my emotions truly trigger binge eating and wanted to share for anyone who is struggling or maybe some of our newbies that could benefit from what's going on my my head ;)

Yesterday, my 15 year old daughter's boyfriend broke up with her. This was her first ...

cioppino with leftover fish

I made this a while back with some leftover fish (I normally detest leftovers and must thoroughly disguise them -- it then becomes an ingredient!) and supplemented with some frozen shrimp we had in the freezer. Pretty tasty.

In a pan sprayed with something and perhaps some water added, cook onion, a few freshly minced garlic cloves, celery and some mushrooms. Once the onions are cooked, add canned tomatoes and/or some peeled fresh ones if ...

I'm just not sure.....

So I subscribed to MyMedifast to see what it was all about and to find if they had any more hints on how to make the whole diet process more pleasureable. So anyways, one of the things they do is send you a tip of the day....Todays tip was about eating out Mexican style, now the whole thing is some of the stuff on the list I didn't even think we were allowed to have....here's ...
