diabetes - asking for a friend

Hi All - I know this question belongs in a different forum, but I thought it might be seen better here. I have an 80 year old friend from my Church.
Shee has Type 1 diabetes that she has managed on her own for years and years. She is very interested in my M/F plan and wants to follow it. Her doctor has pretty much left it up to her as she is so good ...

To All Diabetics :)

I have a diabetic client that is doing absolutely wonderful on the program. She has been on insulin and oral meds for 16 years. She has sent me an email that I feel is important to share to all diabetic patients out here in our forum. I have received permission to share her information with all of you.

Keri -

I am not one for chatting on a phone or telling you every minute ...

Diabetics eating the "other foods"

Since my blood sugar has been regular and I have off diabetic meds for a while, I am considering trying the other medifast foods, such as pudding and the other shakes. I know other diabetics have done this after their bs regulated, but I'm a little scared. Any comments from diabetics who have done this? Thanks :) ...

Distraught After Talking with Doctor.

Poopy old doctor. (Actually, she's a young doctor, but still....)

I had to go in to discuss my lab results, this time with another associate of my regular doc. She liked the fact that I had lost so much weight, but not as quickly as I had, nor did she like the calorie intake. She said I need 1500 calories/day for a healthy loss, but I eventually got her to lower it down to 1200 ...

No more Diabetes pills!

Morning everyone! I just came back from a Dr. appointment and she took me off all my diabetes pills. I was taking three! They were actually slowly being removed since I started MF, but as of yesterday I was still on Avandia. Dr. said it's from the low glycemic goodness of Medifast and the fact I have stuck with it. You can't imagine how this makes ...

TEsting blood supplies

Hi all,

My mom died on Easter. She was sick, but dying this soon was not at all planned. Therefore, she had months and months worth of supplies. She had tons of those littel alcohol pads and things you squirt your blood into and pop in the machine to check it out. She also had the needles you pop in to prick your finger. I would hate to waste anything. Obviously, the alcohol pads would ...

Wow decent morning bs

My morning bs is usually higher. I took note about not taking the bars at the last meal. I had one at 3:00 PM. My last meal was a chocolate shake. This morning my bs was 15 points lower than the average normal AM bs :). This is after one day of MF! I'm under a Dr's care so I'm reporting all changes. My biggest goal (besides ...
